  • Publication number: 20160311989
Abstract: A method of making large ultrathin free-standing polymer films without use of a sacrificial layer includes the steps of providing a substrate, applying a polyelectrolyte material to said substrate, applying a polymer material onto said substrate and onto said polyelectrolyte material, and directly delaminating said polymer material from said substrate and said polyelectrolyte to produce the ultrathin free-standing polymer film.

  • Patent number: 9416619
Abstract: A system for cementing a wellbore penetrating an earth formation into which a pipe extends. A cement material is positioned in the space between the wellbore and the pipe by circulated capsules containing the cement material through the pipe into the space between the wellbore and the pipe. The capsules contain the cementing material encapsulated in a shell. The capsules are added to a fluid and the fluid with capsules is circulated through the pipe into the space between the wellbore and the pipe. The shell is breached once the capsules contain the cementing material are in position in the space between the wellbore and the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20160144030
Abstract: Systems and methods for releasing a material into an environment. The material may be encapsulated in a receptacle or otherwise packaged for movement into the environment. The receptacle with the material inside is introduced into the environment. A triggering causes release of the material from the receptacle into the environment.

  • Publication number: 20160115373
Abstract: Improvements in hydraulic fracturing are provided in a hydraulic fracturing solution comprising water; a hydratable polysaccharide; and a wetting agent selected from the group consisting of: R1—O—(R2)x—R3 wherein: R1 is a linear or branched alkyl chain of 6-25 carbons, an aryl moiety or combinations thereof; each R2 is independently selected from a polyalkoxylene of the structure —CH2CH(R4)O—, where R4 is independently H or C1-C4 alkyl chain, R3 is a terminal group; and x is an integer of 1-9.

  • Publication number: 20150115487
Abstract: Encapsulated solids are made by first encapsulating precursor materials in a polymer shell. The precursors are some combination of solids, liquids, gases, and/or gels. The precursors are then transformed into solids by emplacement of the capsule in an environment where gas or fluid transport into or out of the polymer shell causes transformation into solids.
