  • Publication number: 20180124591
Abstract: A mobile device can be configured to connect to a telecommunications network via a wireless fidelity network device. The mobile device can register with a channel of a base station, which can indicate where the mobile device is located in relation to the base station. Additionally, the mobile device can communicate with other mobile devices via the wireless fidelity network device. In response to an indication that the mobile device is no longer connected to the wireless fidelity network device, notifications can be sent to the mobile device or other mobile devices regarding additional communication.

  • Patent number: 9949230
Abstract: Determining a location quality based on base station identification is disclosed. The location quality can be based on an error attributed to a location determined based on historical data related to an identified base station. Application of supplemental data to the historical base station data can improve location quality by reducing the error. Supplemental data can comprise Voronoi data, geographic data, historical UE density data, historical UE timing advance data, or combinations thereof. Voronoi data can be associated with an area less than a service area of the base station. Geographic data can indicate areas where UEs are not likely to be located. UE density data can indicate probably UE locations. Timing advance data can indicate annular regions where a UE should be located. As such, the supplemental data can constrain a location determined for a UE and correspondingly can reduce error associated with the location.

  • Patent number: 9942770
Abstract: A method is disclosed for blocking a cloned mobile device by a processor of a network. The processor receives a first registration from a first mobile device at a first location. The first registration includes a device identifier and a phone number. The processor then confirms that a second registration from a second mobile device at a second location includes the device identifier and the phone number and calculates a first fraud score for the first mobile device and a second fraud score for the second mobile device. The processor then determines that the second mobile device is the cloned mobile device, when the second fraud score exceeds the first score, and blocks the cloned mobile device from registering on the network.

  • Patent number: 9918211
Abstract: A mobile emergency response network may be utilized to respond to emergencies. Emergency response resources may be selected and deployed through the use of network communications between user equipment and network elements. In an example configuration, a mobile emergency response network may receive emergency data, determine an emergency is occurring, determine a resource requirement for the emergency, identify a mobile device associated with a user who meets the resource requirement, and send a request to the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9886393
Abstract: Example devices are disclosed. For example, a device may include a processor, a plurality of translation lookaside buffers, a plurality of switches, and a memory management unit. Each of the translation lookaside buffers may be assigned to a different process of the processor, each of the plurality of switches may include a register for storing a different process identifier, and each of the plurality of switches may be associated with a different one of the translation lookaside buffer buffers. The memory management unit may be for receiving a virtual memory address and a process identifier from the processor and forwarding the process identifier to the plurality of switches. Each of the plurality of switches may be for connecting the memory management unit to a translation associated with the switch when there is a match between the process identifier and the different process identifier stored by the register of the switch.

  • Publication number: 20180032379
Abstract: In one example, a processor may receive a first request to process a first task, the first request including a first estimated central processing unit utilization for the first task and a first estimated memory utilization for the first task and receive central processing unit capacities and memory capacities of a plurality of sub-data routers including at least a first sub-data router. The processor may further determine that the first sub-data router has a lowest central processing unit capacity from among the plurality of sub-data routers that is sufficient to accommodate the first estimated central processing unit utilization for the first task and determine that the first sub-data router has a memory capacity that is sufficient to accommodate the first estimated memory utilization for the first task. The processor may then assign the first task to the first sub-data router.

  • Publication number: 20170354063
Abstract: A data center cooling system configured to cool one or more components of a data center thereby enabling a data center to be maintained at a higher overall temperature while still providing sufficient cooling to the components housed in the data center is disclosed. By maintaining the data center at a higher overall temperature, significant operational costs are realized due to savings in power costs. The data center cooling system may include one or more turbo-expanders having a rotary turbine positioned within a turbo-expander housing in which compressed air expands and drives the rotary turbine. The cooled expanded air is heated passing through a thermal transfer system that pulls heat from the data center component. The air is further heated passing through a brake system that generates heat by applying resistance to a shaft coupled to the rotary turbine. The heated air is exhausted outside of the data center.

  • Patent number: 9819592
Abstract: A system for automatic reconciliation of data throughput is disclosed. In particular, the system may include automatically and repetitively measuring the available upload and download throughput that a user of an internet service provider statistically receives through the course of a selected period of time. The system jointly monitors the user's data usage volume over time and automatically determines if the user is subscribing for throughput that the user is not receiving at the times that the user is using his or her subscribed service. If the system determines that the user is subscribing for throughput that the user is not receiving, the system may perform a variety of corrective actions. Such corrective actions may include reducing the subscribed for throughput, transmitting a notification to the user to modify the subscribed service, or increasing the subscribed for throughput to improve the user's experience with the internet service provider.

  • Patent number: 9803992
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for suspending voice guidance during route navigation. A processor that executes a navigation system interface application can detect a deviation from a route between an origin and a destination. The processor can obtain contextual data including a geographic location and a vector. The processor can set a first value of a point-of-interest parameter that indicates whether the geographic location and the vector imply a visit to an expected stop, a second value of a road-type parameter that indicates a type of a current road segment associated with the geographic location, and a third value of a route-distance parameter based on a distance between the geographic location and a nearest point along the route. The processor can determine if voice guidance should be suspended based on the first value, the second value, and the third value.

  • Patent number: 9749830
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed. An example method includes attempting to establish a remote communication path to a wireless network from a proxy, the proxy physically attached to a balloon. A determination is made as to whether an emergency procedure is to be performed. In response to a first determination that the remote communication path is established and that the emergency procedure is to be performed, a current location of the proxy is determined, and the current location of the proxy is transmitted to an emergency server.

  • Publication number: 20170244712
Abstract: A method includes, after expiration of a first passcode, receiving, at an access point, a first access request from a first device. The first access request may be encrypted based on the first passcode. The method further includes determining whether an identifier of the first device is included in a device list associated with the first passcode. The device list includes identifiers of devices that accessed the access point using encryption based on the first passcode before the expiration of the first passcode. The method also includes, in response to a determination that the identifier of the first device is included in the device list generating, at the access point, data representing a second passcode by encrypting the second passcode using the first passcode. The method further includes sending the data representing the second passcode to the first device from the access point.
