Publication number: 20230026077Abstract: A stow bar for an aircraft fuel nozzle includes a U-shaped body formed of a base part, a first arm extending from one side of the base part, and a second arm extending from an opposite side of the base part. Each of the first arm and the second arm includes a free end located distally of the base part. Each free end includes a male connector for insertion through an aperture in a housing or a flange of the aircraft fuel nozzle. The stow bar is formed of a single, solitary piece of material. The single, solitary formation of the male connectors with the stow bar provide increased strength and durability to the stow bar connection with the fuel nozzle, and is an improvement over known support bar designs having female threaded connectors which receive screws that are prone to break and leave debris within the female connectors.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2022Publication date: January 26, 2023Inventor: William D. Patent number: 9154386Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method for monitoring, alerting and remediation of systems is provided. The method provides for receiving data from one or more data sources and logging the data. A first metadata fingerprint is created for a particular data source. The first metadata fingerprint is indicative of a first quantity of data output for the particular data source. A second metadata fingerprint is created for the same data source. The second metadata fingerprint is indicative of a second quantity of data output for the data source. The second metadata fingerprint is created from data received at a different point in time from the first metadata fingerprint. The first metadata fingerprint is compared with the second metadata fingerprint associated with the particular data source. An alert is generated when the comparison indicates that the first metadata fingerprint does not correspond within a specified tolerance to the second metadata fingerprint.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2008Date of Patent: October 6, 2015Assignee: TDI Technologies, Inc.Inventors: William D. Patent number: 8880174Abstract: A diagnostic method and predictor of prognosis from various therapeutic treatments is provided using discriminant analysis statistics. In one form, a patient is identified as having a disease using discriminant analysis when one or more values of a physiological parameter of the patient is closer to that of a previously characterized group of individuals having a disease and the patient is diagnosed as not having the disease, or healthy, if the value of a patient's parameter is closer to that of individuals previously characterized as healthy, or not having the disease. For example, the parameters can be based on the autonomic and/or enteric nervous system. Advantageously, the present method can be readily adapted using conventional linear discriminant analysis statistics to factor more than one parameter between a patient and one or more previously classified groups, to thereby enhance predictability and reliability of the present method.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2010Date of Patent: November 4, 2014Assignee: University of Mississippi Medical CenterInventors: Thomas Abell, William D. Patent number: 7971394Abstract: A replacement door having an adjustable locking mechanism that can be used to replace any number of doors employing locking mechanisms positioned at different heights. The locking mechanism, including a handle and plunger mechanism is engaged in the edge of the door and moveable up and down along a vertical path so as to adjust the height at which the plunger engages a preexisting opening in the door frame. When the mechanism is positioned at the desired height a wrap plate secures the mechanism in place. The replacement door may include a continuous hinge that can align with any hinge apparatus on the door frame.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2007Date of Patent: July 5, 2011Inventors: Michael T Dowling, William D Johnson

Patent number: 7698796Abstract: A universal mounting plate for replacing a plurality of different door closers with a new door closer, the plate having a substantially flat rectangular body of a material thickness. A plurality of holes are formed through the material thickness and arranged in a plurality of patterns that correspond to the mounting hole patterns of a plurality of different door closers. The mounting plate can be attached to the door through existing mounting holes and the replacement closer attached to the mounting plate. The existing holes in the door are used to mount the plate and the plate is employed to mount the replacement closer, eliminating the need to drill new holes in the door and patching the old holes.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2008Date of Patent: April 20, 2010Inventors: Michael T. Patent number: 7152812Abstract: The present invention comprises a walk behind zero turn radius drive unit and a front spray frame carrying a plurality of transversely spaced, clearly observable spray nozzles. The drive unit permits accurate and high productivity traverse of the application area with the ability to steer around obstacles and accurately traverse an irregular edging pattern. The spray frame includes a pair of folding spray arms, each of which carried dispensing nozzles. Another set of nozzles is positioned at the sides of the frame. All the nozzles are within the forward lateral view of the operator permitting ready steering of the drive unit around the borders of the application area. The nozzles are supplied with liquid from a frame mounted tank by an electric pump powered by the drive unit. The spray nozzles are controlled by an operator valve positioned adjacent the drive unit control, thereby allowing operator to control the application during travel.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2004Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Inventor: William D. Patent number: 6047221Abstract: A method for modeling a steady-state network in the absence of steady-state historical data. A steady-state neural network can be tied by impressing the dynamics of the system onto the input data during the training operation by first determining the dynamics in a local region of the input space, this providing a set of dynamic training data. This dynamic training data is then utilized to train a dynamic model, gain thereof then set equal to unity such that the dynamic model is now valid over the entire input space. This is a linear model, and the historical data over the entire input space is then processed through this model prior to input to the neural network during training thereof to remove the dynamic component from the data, leaving the steady-state component for the purpose of training. This provides a valid model in the presence of historical data that has a large content of dynamic behavior.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1997Date of Patent: April 4, 2000Assignee: Pavilion Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Stephen Piche, James David Keeler, Eric Hartman, William D.
