  • Patent number: 9133595
Abstract: A ground anchor is provided for driving into the ground for anchoring or supporting a structure. The ground anchor includes a hub with a helical load bearing plate and a pointed ground engaging end having a body with a spade point blade extending axially from the body and the hub. The blade has first and second opposing spiral major faces and first and second transverse minor spiral faces that converge at a flat axial face to form the blade with a spiral configuration. The blade has a longitudinal dimension extending at an inclined angle with respect to a longitudinal center axis of the ground anchor so that the axial face of the blade is spaced outwardly from the center axis of the ground anchor. The leading edge of the spiral blade directs the soil to the leading edge of the helical plate of the ground anchor.

  • Patent number: 6132141
Abstract: A pipeline buoyancy control assembly includes a pair of anchor rods, a pair of tie-down attachment members, a pair of termination members, and a flexible endless strap having an endless loop configuration. The anchor rods are driven partially into the ground along opposite lateral sides of the pipeline. The tie-down attachment members are disposed on and mounted to upper end portions of the anchor rods with each tie-down attachment member having a tubular mounting body defining an axial passageway through which the upper end portion of one anchor rod extends and a retainer body disposed in an oblique relation and attached to the tubular mounting body. Each termination member is mounted to the upper end portion of one of the anchor rods. The endless strap has opposite portions secured to the tie-down attachment members and main portions laid over a top of and disposed in a substantially transverse relation to the pipeline and extending between and attached to the opposite portions.

  • Patent number: 5151089
Abstract: A protective needle sheath is described herein which prevents accidental skin puncture and contact by the sharpened end and shaft of a hypodermic needle. The protective sheath is pivoted with a support base molded as part of the syringe or needle assembly, or capable of being fitted to a needle assembly. A retractable arm is pivotally secured to the support base by a live hinge. The retractable arm being capable of moving from a position in which the needle is encased in a needle channel in the arm, to a position exposing the needle. The retractable arm is moved by applying force to an arm actuator attached to the arm. The needle is locked within the needle channel by friction lock tabs located in the needle channel. The lock tabs are released by applying force to squeeze tabs attached to the arm.
