  • Patent number: 9586560
Abstract: A windscreen wiper device is provided. The wiper device includes an elongate wiping element made of an elastic material and a support member which operably supports the wiping element. The wiper device further includes an adapter made of one piece for securely and releasably engaging an oscillating wiper arm. The adapter includes a pair of laterally spaced sidewalls that extend longitudinally from a front end to a back end. The adapter further includes a cantilever beam which is positioned between the side walls and extends longitudinally towards the back end. The cantilever beam is pivotal in a vertical direction at a hinge and has a stepped configuration which presents three longitudinally and vertically spaced protrusions which project vertically downwardly for engaging in correspondingly shaped holes in at least three of 9×3, 9×4×23, 9×4×28 and 9×4×33 sized hook-style wiper arms.

  • Publication number: 20160107616
Abstract: The windscreen wiper device has a carrier element which operably supports and biases a wiper blade. A two-piece connecting device is provided and includes a base and a joint part. The base is secured with the carrier element and/or the wiper blade. The joint part is pivotally attached with the base and has a main body portion which extends between opposite longitudinal ends and a front nose portion which is connected with one of the longitudinal ends. The joint part further includes a pair of rear locking lugs which extend from the other longitudinal end. The main body portion has a top surface with a resilient tab formed therein, and the resilient tab has a button with a stepped surface that faces longitudinally towards the front nose portion and presents three vertically and longitudinally spaced tiers for lockingly connecting the joint part with differently sized oscillating arms.

  • Publication number: 20160107615
Abstract: The windscreen wiper device includes a wiper blade of a flexible material and a connecting device for attachment with an oscillating wiper arm. The connecting device includes a base and a joint part which is pivotally attached with the base. The joint part includes a main body portion which extends in a longitudinal direction between opposite longitudinal ends. Adjacent one of the longitudinal ends, the joint part has a front nose portion. Adjacent the opposite longitudinal end, the joint part includes a rear portion. The rear portion includes a pair of lugs which extend in opposite lateral directions for receiving and engaging legs on the oscillating wiper arm. The lugs are generally cylindrical in shape for allowing more easy rotation of the joint part relative to the legs of the oscillating wiper arm during attachment and detachment of the connecting device to and from the oscillating wiper arm.

  • Publication number: 20150166017
Abstract: The windscreen wiper device includes a longitudinally extending wiper strip of a flexible material for sealing against a windshield. The wiper device further includes a carrier element which operably supports the wiper strip and a two piece connecting device that is secured with the carrier element for attachment with a wiper arm. The two piece connecting device includes a base which is fixed with the carrier element and an adapter which is pivotally connectable with the base. The adapter is formed as one integral piece and includes a button for releasable engagement within an opening of a bayonet-style wiper arm, a pair of rear locking tabs for receiving legs of a rock and lock-style wiper arm, a front nose portion for releasable engagement with a front edge of the rock and lock-style wiper arm and a single cantilever beam for releasable engagement with hook-style and transverse pin-style wiper arms.

  • Publication number: 20150121644
Abstract: The windscreen wiper device includes a longitudinally extending wiper element which is made of an elastic rubber or rubber-like material. A carrier supports the wiper element and is curved in a longitudinal direction to bias the wiper element into a curved shape. A connecting device is engaged with the carrier for connection with a wiper arm. End caps are disposed at opposite longitudinal ends of the carrier and are spaced longitudinally from the connecting device. A pair of subspoilers are disposed on opposite longitudinal sides of the connecting device. Each of the subspoilers includes a bottom, front and back walls which bound an open interior and two reinforcing members which extend through the open interior and divide the open interior into at least two chambers for reinforcing the front and back walls. The front, back and bottom walls and the reinforcing members are all formed as one integral piece.
