Publication number: 20230258427Abstract: The present disclosure explains a system and method for determining a spatial orientation of a weapon in an augmented reality training environment. Fiducial markers are mounted on the weapon and two cameras are mounted on a user's head to capture spatial coordinates of the plurality of fiducial markers. The spatial coordinates of fiducial markers are processed to determine the spatial orientation of the weapon and a simulated discharging of the weapon. Augmented reality imagery is generated based on the spatial orientation and the detected movement. The augmented reality imagery corresponding to the spatial orientation and discharging of the weapon is rendered for the user with the head-mounted display.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2022Publication date: August 17, 2023Applicant: Cubic CorporationInventors: Keith William Doolittle, Lifan Hua, David Robert Simmons, Adam Robb Syme, Robyn Ann Yost, Peter Jonathan Martin, Carson Alan Brown, Michele Fleming, Vern Edgar Campbell

Publication number: 20220165901Abstract: An extreme and deep ultra-violet photovoltaic device designed to efficiently convert extreme ultra-violet (EUV) and deep ultra violet (DUV) photons originating from an EUV/DUV power source to electrical power via the absorption of photons creating electrons and holes that are subsequently separated via an electric field so as to create a voltage that can drive power in an external circuit. Unlike traditional solar cells, the absorption of the extreme/deep ultra-violet light near the surface of the device requires special structures constructed from large and ultra-large bandgap semiconductors so as to maximize converted power, eliminate absorption losses and provide the needed mechanical integrity.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2022Publication date: May 26, 2022Applicant: BRILLIANT LIGHT POWER, INC.Inventors: RANDELL L. MILLS, WILLIAM DOOLITTLE

Patent number: 9817651Abstract: Techniques are described for recommending updates to a customer instance in a software as a service (SaaS) model. A request can be received to upgrade features belonging to the customer instance. In response to receiving the request, a feature configuration that corresponds to the customer instance can be identified. The feature configuration can a plurality of features from the SaaS model that are available to the customer interface. Once the feature configuration has been identified, a feature upgrade from a plurality of feature upgrades in an upgrade library can be determined to be applicable to the customer instance. The determination can be made by evaluating the upgrade library and the feature configuration.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2014Date of Patent: November 14, 2017Assignee: SUCCESSFACTORS, INC.Inventors: Rajaram Viswanathan, I.V.S. Publication number: 20070158120Abstract: A hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine coupled to a combined starter/motor/generator which is, in turn, coupled to a transmission of the vehicle, The state/motor/generator is coupled to a high voltage battery pack via an inverter and to a deployable power output panel for serving loads external to the vehicle. Whenever external loads are to be powered, a control unit automatically places the vehicle in PARK, or alternatively activates an electrical parking brake system to hold the vehicle stationary.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2007Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventors: Kathi Lee, Del Schroeder, Robert Malcolm, Kenneth Hartwig, Lewis Eanes, William Doolittle

Patent number: 6142414Abstract: A composite aircraft comprising an aerostat containing a lighter than air gas, and a rotor assembly mounted to and below the aerostat, via an axle. The aerostat provides buoyancy to lift the weight of the aircraft plus a significant portion of the payload connected to the aircraft. The rotor assembly statically connects to the aerostat in all aspects except rotationally about the axle, and provides the remaining lift and propulsion to the aircraft and payload. The rotor assembly includes a hub, a plurality of blades, a plurality of winglets, and engine-powered propellers that provide rotational thrust to the rotor assembly. The plurality of blades and winglets have adjustable angles of attack to generate lift and forward propulsion to the aircraft. The blades mount radially from the axle and horizontally from an outboard end of the hub. The winglets mount above and below each blade. The engine-powered propellers mount to the outboard end of the hub.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1999Date of Patent: November 7, 2000Inventor: William Doolittle

Patent number: 5873560Abstract: The present invention is a gimbal system for an apparatus supported in a frame. The gimbal system includes at least two parallel flexible beams positioned on either side of the apparatus. The apparatus is attached to the beam near a center of the beam to the apparatus, such that an active length of the beam is equal to a distance between the beams centers. A first end and a second end of the beam is mounted to the frame. At least one dampening mechanism is attached at a first end to the apparatus and at the other end to the frame. The apparatus exhibits axisymmetric roll stiffness independent of the motion of the frame.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1996Date of Patent: February 23, 1999Assignee: Chrysler CorporationInventors: Luka Serdar, Jr., Gary M. Patent number: 5521839Abstract: A computer-based deep level transient spectroscopy (DLTS) system (10) efficiently digitizes and analyzes capacitance and conductance transients acquired from a test material (13) by conventional DLTS methods as well as by several transient methods, including a covariance method of linear predictive modeling. A unique pseudo-logarithmic data storage scheme allows each transient to be tested at more than eleven different rates, permitting three to five decades of time constants .tau. to be observed during each thermal scan, thereby allowing high resolution of closely spaced defect energy levels.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1993Date of Patent: May 28, 1996Assignee: Georgia Tech Research CorporationInventors: William A.
