  • Patent number: 6754076
Abstract: Electronic system components are cooled using a field configurable pump comprising a selectable plurality of identical or nearly identical modular pump units. The pump units are disposed in a stacked arrangement and are fluidly connected to adjacent modular pump units via a removable coupling, preferably one of the quick-disconnect variety. Each modular pump unit comprises a housing, an impeller and a sealing mechanism. When disposed in a stack the combined pump structure is driven by a single motor. In this fashion, pump structures may be employed which are adaptable to heat flux demands imposed by the electronic components.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 22, 2004
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation

  • Patent number: 4537265
Abstract: A reversible boring ram having a tubular body containing a reciprocable hammer is provided with a pneumatically balanced control member which allows the direction of operation of the ram to be reversed without halting the hammer's reciprocation. The pneumatically balanced control member also allows easy starting of the device. The control member includes a balance piston situated in a balance cylinder which is attached to the body of the ram, the balance cylinder being connected to an inlet channel in such a manner that forward pressure on the balance piston counteracts the backward pressure in the main cylinder. The control member may be spring biased into the position for forward motion.

  • Patent number: 4306733
Abstract: A bicycle (10) includes a frame (14), wheels (16) and cushions (18,20,22,24,26). The buggy (10) is connected by means of a tow bar (30) to a seat stud (28) of a bicycle (12). The buggy frame (14) can be disassembled into various components including side frames (36,38), a back bar (52), cross bars (82,84,86,88) and a foot support (90). The buggy is supported by wheels (16) and is drawn by the tow bar (30) which is connected to the bicycle (12) by means of a scissor latch (112).
