    Abstract: The present invention is a two-part interconnected protecting device which when properly used will enable the user to release a pressure cap or close a valve while simultaneously preventing the hot spraying fluid from striking the user. The first part is a hand protector of a heat-resistant, water-impermeable material. The second part is a circular skirt of preferably the same type of material which is secured to the base of the hand protector.
