  • Patent number: 6227570
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for limiting rotation of a stabilizer flip pad assembly in a support assembly for a work vehicle to prevent undesired flipping of the stabilizer flip pad assembly, where the support assembly includes a support leg assembly and the stabilizer flip pad assembly, and the stabilizer flip pad assembly is rotatably attached to the support leg assembly. The apparatus includes a locking pin assembly and a restraint arm supported by the support leg assembly, where the restraint arm is rotatable at a rotation axis proximate a first end of the restraint arm. The restraint arm includes a slot configured to receive a locking pin of the locking pin assembly, and a restraint protrusion proximate a second end of the restraint arm and extending perpendicular to a plane of rotation of the restraint arm.

  • Patent number: 4705108
Abstract: A method for extracting valuable constituents from underground hydrocarbonaceous deposits such as heavy crude tar sands and oil shale is disclosed. Initially, a stratum containing a rich deposit is hydraulically fractured to form a horizontally extending fracture plane. A conducting liquid and proppant is then injected into the fracture plane to form a conducting plane. Electrical excitations are then introduced into the stratum adjacent the conducting plate to retort the rich stratum along the conducting plane. The valuable constituents from the stratum adjacent the conducting plate are then recovered. Subsequently, the remainder of the deposit is also combustion retorted to further recover valuable constituents from the deposit. Various R.F. heating systems are also disclosed for use in the present invention.

  • Patent number: 4251082
Abstract: PCT No. PCT/US80/00056 Sec. 371 Jan. 21, 1980 Sec. 102(e) Date Jan. 21, 1980 PCT Filed Jan. 21, 1980A joint sealing structure (16) providing a seal between variably spaced joint members (11,12). The sealing structure includes a seal element (17) having a lip portion (20) engaging a sealing surface (21) of one of the joint members (12) and a base portion (19) having a dynamic sealing engagement with the other of the joint members (11). The lip portion is carried on a flexible mounting portion (18). A Belleville spring (24) applies a sealing force to the lip portion (20) through a stiffener ring (23) held against the seal element solely by the force of the spring without the need for bonding or other fastening means. The stiffener ring may embrace a portion (22) of the seal element which, in the illustrated embodiment, comprises a corner portion thereof. A portion (26) of the stiffener ring may be axially aligned with the lip portion (20) of the seal element.
