The systems disclosed herein automatically identify similar advertisement placement opportunities, such as advertisement placement opportunities occurring at the same time, across a plurality of media content providers, and assign an indicated advertisement spot to as many of the identified advertisement placement opportunities as possible. This is achieved by re-assigning advertisement spots which are already assigned to a slot in one of the advertisement placement opportunities to another slot in order to allow the indicated advertisement spot to be assigned to the slot.
