  • Publication number: 20230368938
Abstract: A gas mixture including at least a fluorinated nitrile, carbon dioxide and oxygen for use in electrical equipment is provided. The percentage of oxygen may be at least twice the percentage of the fluorinated nitrile. An additive gas may be present in the gas mixture. A switchgear unit having a gas-insulated compartment including a gas mixture including at least a fluorinated nitrile, carbon dioxide and oxygen is also provided. The percentage of oxygen may be at least twice the percentage of the fluorinated nitrile. An additive gas may be present in the gas mixture housed in the gas-insulated compartment.

  • Patent number: 8525053
Abstract: An electrical switchgear comprises a front, a back and a switch arrangement. The switch arrangement comprises a terminal arrangement comprising an electrical contact for a bus and an electrical contact for a load connection which are spaced apart along an axial direction; and a device that is driveable into said terminal arrangement to a service position to make an electrical connection between said electrical contact for said load connection and said electrical connection for said bus. The electrical contact for said load connection is located closer to said back of said switchgear than is said electrical contact for said bus.

  • Patent number: 7450369
Abstract: An enclosed switching apparatus includes an enclosure and a primary power supply disconnect mounted in the enclosure. The primary power supply disconnect has first and second terminals, the first terminals are electrically connectable to a primary power source and the second terminals are electrically connectable to a load. An auxiliary power supply unit includes an auxiliary power supply disconnect having third and fourth terminals. The third terminals are electrically connectable to the primary power source. A transformer has fifth and sixth terminals, the fifth terminals are electrically connected to the fourth terminals of the auxiliary power supply disconnect. An auxiliary fusible element has seventh and eighth terminals, the seventh terminal is electrically connected to one of the sixth terminals of the transformer. A receptacle has ninth terminals thereon. One of the ninth terminals is electrically connected to the eighth terminal of the auxiliary fusible element.

  • Patent number: 6018455
Abstract: Heat sinks extending rearward from and connected to the risers of a switchgear assembly by the same fasteners which secure the stabs to the risers dissipate the joule heat generated by current flow through the risers and stabs and accommodate for the higher temperature rise permitted in the power circuit breakers engaged by the stabs. The heat sinks are formed by a pair of heat sink members straddling the risers, each of which has an elongated flat body with an extended flat mounting surface on a first face which provides extended surface engagement with a stab. The elongated body projects rearward beyond the stab and a first set of transverse fins project from the first face rearward of the stab toward the first set of fins on the other heat sink member of the pair.

  • Patent number: 5508891
Abstract: An enclosure for drawout circuit interrupters having instrumentation and control wiring includes a housing having circuit interrupter recesses; wiring tray recesses; wiring trays each of which hold the wiring for one of the circuit interrupters; drawout mechanisms for removing the trays from the tray recesses; and brackets for hanging the trays from the enclosure. The trays may have a molded plastic front panel. The trays may also have internal lances or holes for securing the wiring thereto, two rear holes for routing the wiring therethrough, and a bottom side having holes for mounting rails for securing terminal blocks or fuse blocks thereto. The rear holes may hold peripheral plastic conduits for protecting the wiring. The front panel may have recess pockets for holding a descriptive nameplate, and center punches to facilitate mounting instrumentation or control devices. The drawout mechanisms may have a rectangular guide bar beneath the trays.
