    Abstract: An accessory for a patio deck having a floor and a peripheral railing. The accessory includes a stand for being fastened to the floor of the patio deck, a bracket for being fastened to the upper bar of the railing and a post having a lower end mounted in a bore of the stand and an upper end extending through an aperture in the bracket. The invention also includes a bracket for a patio deck accessory which includes a post and wherein the bracket is adaptable for supporting posts of different thicknesses.
