  • Patent number: 4957200
Abstract: A water distillation apparatus has an outer chamber and an inner chamber suspended within the outer chamber by support arms. The inner chamber suspends a heating element to create steam. Heat is transferred from the inner chamber to the outer chamber, wherein the heated water in the outer chamber is allowed to degassify. Degassification removes unpleasant tasting chemicals from the water before distillation. Openings are provided for air circulation to remove the gasses. A condenser is also suspended by the support arms. The stem exits the inner chamber and goes into the condenser. A fan provides air circulation through the condenser. The outer chamber is not penetrated by any openings, thereby precluding the possibility of any leaks. The support arms bear on the outer chamber walls; the inner chamber is removed from the outer chamber for cleaning simply by lifting up. In one embodiment the outer and inner chambers are made of a ceramic material to better regulate heat transfer.

  • Patent number: 4460811
Abstract: A multiple input, multiple output combination switching connector for matingly connecting a plurality of first connectors with a plurality of second connectors characterized by a housing, respective input and output conductors adapted to make electrical contact with the respective first and second conductors, respective wheels for rotating respective input conductors into electrical contact with respective output conductors, each of the wheels including an electrically conductive path connected with a respective input conductor and with an electrically conductive output contact that is adapted to be rotated into electrical contact with respective output conductor. The wheels are individually rotatable within the housing and a bias is provided for maintaining the wheels within the housing and biased together such that electrical continuity through each path per wheel is maintained.

  • Patent number: 4325343
Abstract: An improvement in a fuel metering system having an engine, carburetor, a fluid fuel at super atmospheric pressure and a throttle for controlling the speed and power, the improvement being characterized by a fuel pressure regulator and an obstruction and regulator for controlling pressure drop across the obstruction proportional to the pressure drop across the butterfly within the carburetor so as to obtain a substantially constant fuel-air ratio being fed to the engine regardless of the carburetor demand. Also disclosed are a variety of means for accomplishing the obstruction and regulation of pressure drop thereacross, as well as the improved regulators, per se.

  • Patent number: 4251888
Abstract: The toilet seat of this invention has a hollow central portion therein with holes in the front and rear of the inner lateral sides through which air is drawn inwardly. Vacuum hoses are connected to the hollow central portion of the toilet seat and lead to a vacuum pump mounted near the toilet. The vacuum pump sucks the odor-laden air from the toilet seat area and blows it to the outside through an expulsion tube.

  • Patent number: 4170609
Abstract: In a process for the aldol condensation and dehydration of carbonyl compounds, and for the substitution of carbonyl compounds onto the alpha carbon of alpha-beta unsaturated carbonyl compounds, carbonates of aluminum are used. The aluminum oxycarbonate catalyst may be either in a fixed or fluid bed.

  • Patent number: 4167987
Abstract: A multiple flow marine muffler constructed of resilient material having an elongated generally cylindrical hollow shell with reduced diameter inlet and outlet portions, and longitudinally spaced pairs of opposed baffles within the shell which define a plurality of chambers decreasing in axial length from the chamber adjacent the inlet portion to the chamber adjacent the outlet portion. The several pairs of baffles are so shaped, sized and oriented as to provide multiple flow paths for exhaust gases and cooling water through the muffler, namely, a central straight through path for engine idle condition, a first pair of undulating paths in side by side out of phase relation, and a second pair of undulating paths in side by side out of phase relation which are oriented in the cylindrical shell 90.degree. away from the first pair.

  • Patent number: 4060060
Abstract: An improvement in a rotary vee device that includes relative rotational and reciprocal motion between the interior walls of the cylinder and the exterior walls of the pistons characterized by each piston having first flow areas defined on its periphery and a first fluid flow passageway; each of the first fluid flow passageways in communication with the interior of its respective cylinder above its respective piston and with its respective first flow areas; and each cylinder wall having intake ports and discharge ports located at predetermined locations.

  • Patent number: 3980409
Abstract: The tool comprises a plurality of tubular telescoping sections of insulating material arranged in a series. Each of the sections, except a most rearward end section, has a forwardly facing annular exterior shoulder at its rearward end and each of the sections, except a most forward end section, has a rearwardly facing annular interior shoulder at its forward end. When the tool is fully extended for use, each rearwardly facing shoulder engages a forwardly facing shoulder and radial apertures in the sections are in alignment. A pin support located within the rearward end of each section except the most rearward section contains a pin which is biased outwardly by a compression spring through the aligned apertures thus locking the sections in their extended positions with respect to each other. The pins, aligned openings, and shoulders are relatively positioned so that pulling forces are opposed by the shoulders and not the pins.

  • Patent number: 3973531
Abstract: An improved engine, particularly of the rotary type, or so-called angle piston type, having conventional components and characterized by a compressor serving as a supercharger interposed between the carburetor and the engine intake ports for compressing the combustible mixture; a bypass manifold for passing compressed combustible mixture to the suction side of the compressor; and a fine throttle means for controlling the proportion of combustible mixture bypassed for fine control and efficient combustion in the engine. The master throttle on the carburetor is employed only for major adjustments in power requirements. Also disclosed are details of critically located and designed intake ports and passageways and discharge ports and passageways to take advantage of centrifugal force of the angle piston type engine to obtain very nearly perfect scavenging, as well as details of employing a center section compressor for compressing the combustible mixture.
