Abstract: A case for a power tool includes a cover member and base member coupled together along a hinge line. The cover and base members are configured to fold together along the hinge line to form an enclosed cavity. A first opening is provided in the case for receiving a first end of a power tool and a second opening is provided in the case for receiving a second end of a power tool. The handle of the power tool serves as the handle for the case. A storage tray includes a plate member having a first and a second half. A plurality of coupling elements are disposed on a surface of the plate member. The plate member is configured to fold along a hinge line such that the coupling elements face outwardly. A carrying case system is also described.

Abstract: A power tool includes a main body having an upper surface and a power source. A power level indicator is positioned on the upper surface of the main body of the power tool. In the case of a cordless power tool, a removable battery is the power source and the power level indicator is a battery charge indicator that is electrically coupled to the battery. A modular panel for a power tool is configured to seat in an opening disposed on a power tool. The panel includes a panel member, at least one opening disposed on the panel member for association with an accessory component, and at least one coupling mechanism for coupling the at least one accessory component to the panel. The coupling member is configured to allow coupling of the accessory component to the panel prior to coupling of the panel to the housing of a main body.

Abstract: A handheld tool has an attached position in which the tool is removably attached to a battery pack. The battery pack has an auxiliary battery and output terminals for outputting electricity from the auxiliary battery. The tool includes a load and a primary battery. Input terminals of the tool are configured to connect to the battery output terminals when the tool is in the attached position. A circuit is connected to the load, the primary battery and the input terminals. The circuit is configured to power the load solely from the primary battery when the housing is not in the attached position, and to power the load from both the primary and auxiliary batteries in series when the housing is in the attached position.
