Patent number: 6790674Abstract: To sample hot liquids containing volatile materials, the liquid is cooled in a refrigerator and pumped through a syringe needle into a container until the container overflows. The needle is removed slowly and the container is automatically closed as the needle is withdrawn, wherein liquid flows upwardly continuously as the needle is withdrawn through an opening. The cap for the container includes a closure having a valve opening extending upwardly and sized to narrowly receive the syringe needle in a perpendicular valve member opening. The valve member includes a flat member on one end adapted to be gripped by a cam follower for opening and closing of the valve opening in coordination with the movement of the syringe needle.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2001Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Assignee: Isco, Inc.Inventors: Paul George Wright, Lowell Robert Nickolaus, Paul Thees Busboom, Jerome John Kazakevicius, John D. Patent number: 6634994Abstract: The jump rope device employs DC motors to rotate two ropes and a dual closed loop control system is used to synchronize the turning movements of the two ropes. An infrared beam is used to monitor the use of the machine by a user. Each motor housing is mounted on a tripod support which can be collapsed for ease of transportation and storage. A floor mat with sensors may be employed for various exercises.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2001Date of Patent: October 21, 2003Assignee: Rensselaer Polytechnic InstituteInventors: Tahira Reid, Burt Swersey, Paul Fiscarelli, Rory MacKean, Joe Doucette, Lakisha Anderson, Maneesh Shrivastav, Colleen Conlon, Thomas Manning, Kevin Haynes, Serge Rigaud, Eileen Carrier, William Foley

Patent number: 6117031Abstract: The kickball information delivery system employs a ball having an internally disposed device for emitting a first sound location signal, a base transmitter unit for emitting a second sound location signal as well as a signal and an information unit to be mounted on a person for emitting a third pulsed sound signal to indicate the location of the person. In addition, the information unit is able to receive the signal and to use the reception of the signal to change the pulse frequency of the third sound signal to indicate alignment with the signal, for example to permit running from home plate to first base.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1998Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: Rensselaer Polytechnic InstituteInventors: Adam D. Patent number: 4775921Abstract: A panel and frame mounting system for electrical lighting fixtures. The system has a number of individual panels each of shallow box shape. Some panels have unbroken front surfaces and serve as filler panels. Other panels have rearwardly dished compartments which, together with the fixture bases, form enclosed metal electrical boxes to house connectors to the fixtures. The panels slide into a frame having rear hooks. The rear hooks suspend the frame on a mounting bar having brackets at its ends to fit into standard slotted tracks mounted on a wall. The frame can carry a power bar into which fixtures on the frame can be plugged.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1987Date of Patent: October 4, 1988Assignee: Danbel Industries Inc.Inventor: William Foley
