  • Patent number: 5601763
Abstract: Underground pipelines that carry wastewater, water, natural gas, and industrial fluids deteriorate with age. This invention is a process and apparatus for installing a thermoplastic liner in a dry pipeline to accomplish in situ rehabilitation. It involves extruding a tube of thermoplastic liner material within the interior of a dried and preheated pipeline in situ, said tube having an outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of said pipeline. The tube is next expanded so that the outside diameter of said tube is substantially equal to the inside diameter of said pipeline. The expanded tube is then cooled and hardened in a liner configuration.

  • Patent number: 4841056
Abstract: There are disclosed intermediates to pharmaceutical compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is an aliphatic or aromatic function, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or a protecting group; and salts thereof.

  • Patent number: 4641006
Abstract: A rotating antenna is provided for use in a microwave oven having drive apparatus for rotating the antenna, a heating cavity, a source of microwave energy and a waveguide between the heating cavity and the source of microwave energy. A probe extends into the waveguide for coupling with the microwave energy and is connected to a center-fed dipole radiator in the heating cavity. Radiation modifying elements are integral with the dipole radiator to provide increased radiation in the central portion of the heating cavity. Impedance balancing elements are also integral with the dipole radiator and cooperate with the probe to effectively match the impedance of the source of microwave energy with the impedance of the heating cavity to permit substantially full microwave power to be delivered to a cooking load.

  • Patent number: 4286443
Abstract: An automatic fabric washing machine is selectively operable through a plurality of cycles for washing either permanent press or regular fabrics. The drive system is selectively operable in either low or high speed for agitation of the fabric load or to spin the fabric basket for extraction of liquid from the fabric load. Circuitry is provided for bypassing the selected drive speed to assure that the initial cool-down spin increment for the permanent press cycle will always be at a low speed to reduce the quantity of liquid pumped from the machine and to allow the fabrics to cool down with potentially reduced wrinkling. After the assured slow speed initial spin increment, the machine will proceed through the remainder of the cycle at the operator selected speeds.
