  • Patent number: 9302240
Abstract: A method and system for assembling building blocks of colloidal particles and also for shaping of colloids for self-assembly for manufacturing, processing and formation of compositions of matter. A first type of particle is selected as a “key” particle constructed to mate with a “lock” particle, the binding arising from depletion forces. A variety of shapes can be used to carry out this method and system to create compositions of matter. Colloids can be shaped by controlled deformation of multiphase colloid particles.

  • Publication number: 20140236939
Abstract: Embodiments include a method for providing two or more search results. The method can include receiving at least one search parameter from a search query of a first user. The method also can include determining potential search results based upon the at least one search parameter. The method further can include determining one or more related searches from one or more second users. The method also can include determining two or more search results at least partially based upon the at least one search parameter and the one or more related searches. The method additionally can include determining that the two or more search results are related to a topic. The method further can include organizing the two or more search results based upon the topic. The method also can include displaying the two or more search results to the first user. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060185332
Abstract: A spark suppression device includes a plurality of blades or vanes that are mounted transversely in a duct of an air handling/dust collection system communicating with a spark source. A controlled flow of air carries sparks from the spark source through the spark suppression device. Sparks are suppressed by turbulence created in the airstream from the blades that have a downstream curvature. The turbulence strips away a hot air bubble surrounding a spark ember, thereby effectively cooling the spark and significantly reducing combustion at the spark ember. Other attributes of the invention contributing to spark suppression include an overlapping arrangement of the blades that results in high-velocity impact of the sparks against the blades, thereby breaking up the spark embers into smaller embers, and creation of rapid increased pressure within the spark suppression device that also helps to strip away the spark ember from the surrounding hot air bubble.
