  • Patent number: 4890371
Abstract: A pallet changer device is associated with a milling or machining device and has a table that indexes 180.degree.. A pallet is held in an upright position for loading of fresh workpieces, while machining is carried out automatically on workpieces on a similar pallet. When the machining is complete, the table indexes 180.degree. exposing an available station, and an arm retrieves the pallet of machined parts and moves it onto the table. Then the table is indexed again, and the pallet of fresh workpieces is moved to a work station at the machining device. A wash cycle is carried out on the pallet of workpieces, now suspended beneath the inverted table. After the cycle, the table is inverted placing the cleaned finished workpieces upright. These are removed from the pallet and replaced with fresh workpieces.

  • Patent number: 4767246
Abstract: A quick-release tool holding device as a tool holder formed of a sleeve and a shoulder having an undercut annular tapered surface, with a tool holder retaining head that has a cylindrical bore into which the tool holder sleeve fits, with the tool holder shoulder abutting against an end of the sleeve. The retaining head has a quick-release retainer mechanism in which a plurality of button members releaseably engage the tapered surface of the tool holder. These button members are moved by rotating an annular collett or ring which induces cam action of the buttons into and out of engagement with the tool holder. This quick-release tool holder mechanism is favorably employed in a multiple spindle mechanism mounted on a tooling machine.

  • Patent number: 4717297
Abstract: A support bracket and guide assembly is employed with a multiple spindle head or other milling device to be mounted on a milling machine. A support bracket mounted on the horizontal dovetail ways of the machine holds a guide plate in which a vertical guide bar is slidably disposed. A slider mounted at the foot of the guide bar rides on an arcuate horseshoe member whose center is positioned at the axis of the device input shaft. The slider is tightened on the horseshoe member at a desired angle.
