  • Patent number: 8669903
Abstract: A dual frequency band antenna has a first section with a dielectric material separating parallel first and second conductive layers. An electrical shunt extends between the first and second electrically conductive layers. A second section includes an inverted F element electrically connected to the second electrically conductive layer. A transmission medium carries signals between the antenna assembly and a communication circuit and has a first electrical conductor connected to the first electrically conductive layer and a second electrical conductor connected to the inverted F element.

  • Patent number: 6087990
Abstract: An antenna assembly has a first antenna with a planar dielectric first substrate and electrically conductive layers on opposing major surfaces of the first substrate. One or more hollow electrical shunts extend between the conductive layers and separate conductors are connected to the geometric centers of each conductive layer to carry communication signals to and from the first antenna. A second antenna abuts the first antenna and has a second planar substrate of dielectric material with a conductive radiating pattern on one surface. In an active version of the second antenna, a low noise amplifier is mounted on the second substrate. Another conductor extends through the hollow electrical shunt and is connected to the conductive pattern.

  • Patent number: 5544762
Abstract: A separating apparatus is disclosed for separating debris from materials. The apparatus includes a container which defines an opening for the flow therethrough of the materials. A frame is disposed adjacent to the opening. The frame has a first side which is pivotally connected to the container about a pivotal axis. A second side of the frame is disposed remote from the first side. A separating device is pivotally secured to the frame about a further pivotal axis. The separating device extends across the opening between the first and second side of the frame when in a first disposition thereof. An actuator co-operates with the separating device for permitting movement of the separating device to a second disposition thereof away from the frame and the opening.

  • Patent number: 5041838
Abstract: An planar antenna for use with a cellular telephone has a dielectric substrate with conductive coatings on its two major surfaces. A coaxial cable extends through a central aperture in the substrate with a shield of the cable connected to coating on one surface and a center conductor of the cable connected to coating on the other substrate surface. A number of shunts extend through the substrate electrically connecting the coatings on the two surfaces at points along a line that runs through the central aperture. Another shunt extends through the substrate electrically connecting the coatings on the two surfaces at a point which is not along the line of the other shunts. The position of the last shunt is non-uniformly spaced with respect to the other shunts and is selected to alter an electrical characteristic of the antenna to a desired value.
