    Abstract: A stable block is formed of shredded paper or paper-like material (herein after referred to as "paper") and a binder such as ligninsulfonate. The block is formed by shredding paper, mixing the shreds with a binder such as ligninsulfonate resin, and placing the same in a heated matrix of a die; and while in the die, subjecting the mixture to high pressure.
