  • Patent number: 8757269
Abstract: A tubular clamp for gripping a tubular is disclosed. In one aspect, a tubular clamp for use with a cutting and lifting system is provided. The tubular clamp is configured to move between an opened position and a closed position. The tubular clamp further includes at least one slip member to permit the clamp to bear the weight of a severed tubular string. Lifting lugs on an outer surface of the clamp permit attachment to a lifting assembly.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2010
Date of Patent: June 24, 2014
    Assignee: Oceaneering International, Inc.
Inventors: William J. Tabor, Huey J. Kliebert, Jr., Scott A. Marshall, Benton John Vicknair

  • Patent number: 4870649
Abstract: A reflection filter is disposed on a solid state laser so as to preferentially reflect TE or TM modes and to suppress oscillation within the resonator of the non-reflected modes. In one embodiment, the filter includes a layer having a plurality of grooves which may be straight and parallel or curved to approximate the mode shape. In another embodiment, the filter includes a polarization sensitive film, without grooves, which either absorbs or transmits the undesired mode. Specifically described is a buried heterostructure semiconductor DFB laser with such a reflection filter formed on at least one facet thereof.

  • Patent number: 4613955
Abstract: Wide temperature range magnetic bubble memories are realized by using new compositions of rare earth garnets which require nonlinear bias field for operation over a given temperature range. The bias field structure for providing the corresponding nonlinear bias field includes plates of barium ferrite plus additional plates of Ni-Cu alloys and/or polycrystalline dysprosium (or other rare earths, singly or in combination) iron garnet to provide a nonlinear bias field versus temperature characteristic to match that of the bubble layer.
