The inner cylinder remains spaced from the outer cylinder while the inner cylinder is positioned within the outer cylinder. A thermostat and a heating element may be located within the apparatus and adapted to be coupled to an external 115 volt alternating current power supply source. A mounting plate and retainer springs are used to hold the thermostat at a secure position during use while permitting easy access to the thermostat during maintenance. An internal power supply source providing a 12 volt direct current to the thermostat may further be electrically coupled to the circuit breaker.

The HHOCV exhibits a novel battery charging system by taking advantage of existing track/trolley/catenary facilities for electrically charging its electrical storage media at a high energy rate so as to minimize disruption of such charging services, and is not confined by physical boundaries or limitations and may travel off the power source to the existing common roadways returning only to be recharged.

Abstract: Example methods and apparatus to model consumer awareness for changing products in a consumer purchase model are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes receiving utility values associated with at least one of a product or a product attribute, and identifying an agent awareness state associated with the restage product and the original product. The example method also includes calculating a choice probability for the restage product based on the estimated utility values associated with the identified awareness state, and outputting the choice probability for use in a simulation of consumer purchase.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of aerodynamics. More particularly, the present invention relates to manipulating air flow over a surface, such as the surface of a duct of a ducted fan vehicle. By controlling air flow over, at, or around the surface of a duct, the flight of the vehicle can be controlled. One embodiment of the invention provides a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) ducted-fan vehicle comprising means for producing steady or unsteady blowing at a surface of a duct for producing control forces and moments for controlling flight. The means for unsteady blowing can be provided by synthetic jets and the means for steady blowing can be provided by a pressurized air supply. The synthetic jets can be integrated into the ducted-fan vehicles in numerous ways, including at the surface of the leading and/or trailing edge of the ducts. The synthetic jets can be independently operated to control the flight of the vehicle.

Abstract: A display case luminaire (30) comprises a linear housing, array (32) of LED light sources, and lens (33), wherein the lens provides a substantially uniform spread of light across a target plane even if the luminaire is located to emit light generally at an acute angle to the plane. The lens (33) is a Fresnel lens and has non-uniform optical characteristics in cross-section, with at least two different focal lengths. The linear housing comprises a visor (36) and a reflective surface (35) externally of the lens and a reflective surface (35) between the lens and the light source. A display case luminaire as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the housing is configured for mounting back-to-back with another similar luminaire to provide a field of emission in the range of 150° to 180°. The housing is generally quadrant-shaped in cross-section, and the lens may be tilted with respect to the light source.

Abstract: A cutting workstation which includes a miter gauge. The miter gauge consists of a clamping means whereby the gauge may be fixed to any location upon the length of cutting station work surface. The miter gauge arm is hinged to clamping means by a plate which may be rotated and then fixed at any angle. The arm is extendable and at its distal end exhibits a T shaped plate and fence which itself may be rotated to any angle. The ability to fix the miter gauge at any position along the cutting station work surface along with two means of adjusting angles allows the fence to guide the work piece at virtually any angle.
