Publication number: 20110070583Abstract: The LSAMP gene can be used for cardiovascular disease risk assessment, in particular Left Main Disease. The genetic risk attributable to LSAMP adds to known cardiovascular disease risk factors. Assessment of risk attributable to LSAMP permits early initiation of preventive and therapeutic strategies. Given the pronounced clinical risk associated with Left Main Disease, such risk assessment should significantly reduce morbidity and mortality.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2010Publication date: March 24, 2011Inventors: Jeffery M. Publication number: 20040226600Abstract: An improved gas pilot control apparatus with an improved thermopile construction comprised of a consolidated thermocouple and thermopile capable of providing multiple EMF signals to operate a gas valve, transmitter/receiver and other components when positioned relative to a pilot flame. The improved thermopile requires a pilot flame of typically 500 BTU/hr to generate the EMF milli voltage required by modern gas valves to maintain reliable, rapid and safe operation of the appliance. The improved thermopile is electrically connected to an electromagnetic valve that controls the flow of gas from the source of supply to the pilot and main burner. The thermopiles are electrically connected to electromagnetic valves and to a transmitter/receiver that remotely control the flow of gas to the main burner.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 22, 2004Publication date: November 18, 2004Inventors: Edward Starer, George William Kraus

Patent number: 6740806Abstract: A combined thermocouple and thermopile capable of producing multiple EMF signals. The combined thermocouple and thermopile construction is particularly adapted for use as an electric generator capable of producing multiple EMF signals and able to respond faster to changes to the presence or absence of a pilot or gas burner flame. The conductors of the thermopile are comprised of dissimilar metals joined at each end to form hot and cold thermocouple junctions. The thermopile may provide multiple EMF signals when a third wire lead is affixed to a cold junction between either end of the array. The array of thermocouples is formed in a circle and enclosed in a metal sleeve or jacket.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2001Date of Patent: May 25, 2004Inventors: Edward Starer, George William Kraus, II

Patent number: 6717044Abstract: A thermopile construction adapted for use as an electric generator capable of producing multiple EMF outputs in response to heat as from a pilot flame. A cluster of hot and cold thermocouple junctions are arrayed within a housing. The hot junction of one of the thermocouples, located at the beginning of the array, extends beyond the other hot junctions for greater sensitivity to changes in temperature as from a pilot flame and surrounding radiating surfaces. While being a part of the array, the longer thermocouple also has extension wires at the cold junction thereof to deliver the EMF of that couple alone to a control device requiring a small EMF. One such wire serves also as one of two leads for delivering the EMF of the entire array to an electromechanical device that requires a larger EMF. Additional extension wires can be added to obtain intermediate EMF values.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2001Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Inventors: George William Kraus, II, Edward Starer

Patent number: 6442576Abstract: An apparatus and a method perform search operations on a document having nested elements of varying types. The apparatus finds in the document an element which is capable of containing nested elements of one or more varying types. The apparatus can also replace the found element with a substitute element, which is also capable of containing nested elements of one or more varying types. The types of elements include texts, images, animation, and sound clips. For each element, a matching function and a find function are provided. The matching function associated with one element determines if a target element matches itself based on predetermined search criteria. The find function associated with one element searches for a match of a target element within itself. The find function of one element can in turn invoke find functions associated with elements embedded within itself in carrying out the search on the target element.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1997Date of Patent: August 27, 2002Assignee: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventors: Bradley A.
