    Abstract: A furling line tensioning device is provided to control the line coiling action of a roller-reefing drum, comprising a cam-type cleat having a sailboat mounting base, first and second cam members on the base and having opposed cam walls receiving a furling line therebetween, at least one cam member being movable and spring-biased toward a closed position to maintain a tensioning force on a furling line during its movement in one direction.
