  • Patent number: 6778488
Abstract: Matrix recovery and link maintenance for a signaling node in an SS7 network. The signaling node comprises a planar redundant switching matrix with master and standby sides. End devices for trunk interfacing and channel data control receive data and timing from the master side, de-coupled from data and timing paths of the standby side. In steady-state, revenue traffic between the SS7 network and the signaling node runs on the master side in a pulse code modulated (PCM) form. Test channels are set up on both sides. Test patterns are propagated on the test channels for monitoring failures of timing path, PCM data, and device communication. When a failure condition is detected on the master side, the signaling node transmits idle signaling to the network, so that the revenue traffic is suspended and the link is maintained in an in-service state.

  • Patent number: 6615257
Abstract: A configuration editor receives requests to access a configuration area for a cable modem. Each configuration area corresponds to a particular user type. The configuration editor can then retrieve configuration data corresponding to the configuration area for the particular user type. An area editor selects data fields corresponding to configuration data, and allocates the data fields to one or more configuration areas corresponding to particular user types.

  • Patent number: 6522732
Abstract: A computerized method of preserving stable calls during a split mode operation of telecommunications equipment includes the steps of sending a call block update message from a first side of the telecommunications equipment to a second side of the telecommunications equipment. The call block update message includes dynamic call state data on the stable call handled by the first side and stored in a call block file in the first side of the telecommunications equipment. The method includes sending a call block update acknowledgement message from the second side of the telecommunications equipment to the first side of the telecommunications equipment in response to receiving the call block update message. The above steps are repeated until all dynamic call state data in the call block file is duplicated and sent to the second side.

  • Patent number: 6281892
Abstract: A table-driven interface system and method to a computer application is provided. The system includes an input handler operable to receive a command entered by a user, and at least one input table indexable by the received command for determining a sequence of required input parameters associated with the received command, the sequence of required input parameters being used to prompt the user for required input parameter values. A server handler is operable to construct a message having a predetermined format containing the required input parameter values, the server handler further operable to send the constructed message to a server. The server handler is operable to receive a reply message from the server containing at least one output parameter value. At least one output table containing display control information are indexable by the received command and required input parameters.

  • Patent number: 4974144
Abstract: A fault-tolerant digital data processing system comprises a first input-output controller which communicates with at least one peripheral device over a peripheral device bus having first and second input/output buses, each carrying data, address, control, and timing signals from the input/output controller to the peripheral device. A device interface is coupled to the first and second input/output buses and to an associated peripheral device for transferring information between the buses and the associated peripheral device. In normal operation, the device interface applies duplicate information signals synchronously and simultaneously to the input/output buses for transfer to the input/output controller. The device interface also receives, in the absence of fault, duplicative information signal synchronously and simultaneously from the first and second input/output buses.

Each peripheral device includes a device interface for transferring information signals between the associated peripheral device and the peripheral bus. The peripheral device controller includes a strobe element connected with the first and second input/output buses for transmitting thereon duplicative, synchronous and simultaneous strobe signals. These strobe signals define successive timing intervals for information transfers along the peripheral bus. Information transfers are normally effected by the transmission of duplicate information signals synchronously and simultaneously on the first and second input/output buses.
