The seal assembly comprises a seal configured to create a seal between first and second components of the vehicle assembly and a retaining element configured to couple the seal to the first component prior to assembly of the vehicle assembly, wherein at least a portion of the retaining element is deformable and is configured to deform from a first state to a second state during installation or use of the seal assembly, such that after said deformation the retaining element no longer couples the seal to the first component.
