  • Patent number: 11421054
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for a system and method for producing a polyethylene polymer (PE) that includes measuring a melt flow index (MFI) of the PE, comparing the measured value of the MFI to a predetermined desired range for the MFI, changing a catalyst feed rate to the polymerization reactor based on the compared values of the MFI, where changes in the catalyst feed rate preemptively compensate for subsequent changes in an oxygen flow rate to the polymerization reactor that maintain a predetermined residence time and bring the MFI of the PE into the predetermined desired range for the MFI; and changing the oxygen flow rate to the polymerization reactor thereby maintaining both the predetermined residence time and bringing the MFI of the PE into the predetermined desired range for the MFI. The measuring and comparing steps are repeated to ensure the measured value of the MFI is within the predetermined desired range of the MFI at the predetermined residence time.

  • Patent number: 11267918
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of controlling polymer properties in polymerization processes that use a chromium-based catalyst. An embodiment discloses a method of producing a polyolefin comprising: contacting a reaction mixture and a reduced chromium oxide catalyst in a gas-phase reactor to produce the polyolefin, wherein the reaction mixture comprises a monomer and a co-monomer; and changing a reaction temperature in the gas-phase reactor by about 1° C. or more whereby a gas molar ratio of the co-monomer to the monomer is changed by about 2% or more and a co-monomer content of the polyolefin at substantially constant density is changed by about 2% or more. Additional methods and compositions are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220057897
Abstract: In some examples, a touch screen can include touch electrodes that can function as drive (Tx) electrodes and sense (Rx) electrodes during a touch sensing operation of the electronic device. The drive electrodes can include +Tx electrodes and ?Tx electrodes that can receive drive signals that can have the same amplitude and frequency and opposite phases, for example. In some examples, the surface areas of the +Tx electrodes and the ?Tx electrodes can be the same and the distances of the +Tx electrodes and ?Tx electrodes from the Rx electrodes can be different. In some examples, the total charge coupled to a proximate or touching object can be zero, which can mitigate problems associated with ungrounded or poorly grounded objects in contact with the touch screen.

  • Patent number: 11175639
Abstract: Model predictive control is used to obtain the best performance value for an objective in a dynamic environment. One or more best performance values for a model predictive application are obtained by utilizing asymmetric dynamic behavior that pushes the process to the edges of the operative window. When a setpoint becomes infeasible, a controller slows down when moving away from a specified setpoint. When the infeasibility clears and the controller starts moving back towards the setpoint, the controller follows a tuned speed. When the controller moves in a direction against economic profit, the controller slows down and when moving in the direction of economic profit, the controller follows the tuned dynamic speed. The controller computes the best performance value for each controlled variable and is equal to the setpoint for the controlled variables with a setpoint or the highest profit value between limits for controlled values affected by economic functions.

The locking ring has a ring wall, which has a ring opening. The ring wall has an angular outer surface and a slot configured to permit the ring wall to radially expand. The angular outer surface engages an angular portion of an interior surface of the collar. The articular member and the locking ring define an articular space within the collar. The articular space is configured to receive the convex articular head.

  • Patent number: 11163067
Abstract: An interface device that enables a GNSS-based precision approach through the Ground Base Augmentation System (GBAS) function known as the GNSS Landing System (GLS) and/or through Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) based Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV). The GLS interface device allows a GLS-capable multi-mode receiver to be used on a non-GLS-capable airplane without extensive changes to other airplane systems. The GLS interface device works by intercepting information to and from the multi-mode receiver and modifying the information to make the interface compatible with an airplane that uses ILS guidance. Similarly, the information modifications will make the airplane appear to the multi-mode receiver as if it were a GLS-capable airplane.

  • Patent number: 11156053
Abstract: A riser disconnect/reconnect system having a disconnection package (RDP) and a modified lower marine riser package (LMRP) are provided for quick disconnection of the marine drilling riser (MDR) from the LMRP to facilitate access to the LMRP or BOP stack. The RDP includes a flex joint and a hydraulically-actuated release connector (RC) with a connecting mandrel that engages a modified LMRP. In an emergency, the RDP is disconnected from the LMRP allowing access to the BOP stack for intervention. The RDP may be disconnected from the LMRP for recovery of the LMRP or BOP stack to the surface for repair or maintenance without recovering the MDR. The RC joins the flex joint to the uppermost annular blowout preventer in the LMRP. The release connector can be used in a standard or inverted position. Also provided are structural cages with complementary stab plates allowing access to various bypass ports and controls.
