    Abstract: An automatic door operator operating on standard 120V/240V AC power utilizes a servomotor for operation, and thus no separate transformer is required for the operator. The servomotor incorporates programming to limit torque, and thus no slip clutch is required in order to allow manual operation of the door. Furthermore, because the servomotor has built-in control logic, no separate digital control logic is required. Because the position of the servomotor is continuously maintained, the relative position of the door with respect to a fully opened or fully closed position is always known, and no separate external signal is required in order to monitor the door position.

The actuatable component is controlled to perform the selected responsive action. Accessory sensors and actuatable accessories may be in communication with the garage door system. When the accessories are found to be present by the garage door opener system, and a condition is detected by the accessory sensor, a responsive action is selected and the actuatable accessory is controlled to perform the responsive action. In either case, the responsive actions may be selected based on rules. The responsive actions may be performed by a combination of the actuatable components of the garage door opener system and the actuatable accessories in communication with the garage door opener system.

A server receives initial accessory device status and settings data from the garage door opener, stores the data as associated with the accessory port, and sends the data to a peripheral device. The server receives new accessory device status data and sends it to the peripheral device. New settings data is sent by the peripheral device to the server and the server sends it to the garage door opener such that the load of the accessory device is controlled based on the new settings data. Similarly, initial data may be stored and associated with a second accessory port for a second accessory device and a load of the second accessory device is controlled based on new settings data from received from the peripheral device.

The processor also detects stimuli in a space associated with the remote control device based on sensory data from the secondary sensor, determines a responsive action, and controls the secondary actuatable component or an accessory device of the garage door opener to perform the responsive action. The remote control device may function as a speaker phone or wireless communication device utilizing the secondary components. The secondary components may be connected to vehicle diagnostics and communicate vehicle status to users.

The condition logging events may include detecting a change in sensor data, detecting a change in data from a component of the garage door opener system, and receiving a request from the user interface. The device electronic processor is further configured to receive, via the wireless transceiver, the firmware update image from the server and to determine an inactive firmware image of the first firmware image and the second firmware image. The device electronic processor overwrites, in the memory, the inactive firmware image with the firmware update image, and reboots using the firmware update image from the memory.

The electrical circuit comprises at least one light-emitting diode carried by the light-carrying member, and a current interrupter component interposed in the electrical circuit. The current interrupter component permits current flow within the electrical circuit when a parameter of the electrical circuit remains below a predetermined value, and opens the electrical circuit in response to the parameter of the electrical circuit exceeding the predetermined value. The current interrupter component may be carried by the light-carrying member, or may be contained within an exterior envelope at least partially surrounding the electrical circuit.
