Patent number: 8679032Abstract: A biopsy device having a cutting element is disclosed. The cutting element includes an inner cannula having a tissue receiving aperture disposed proximate a distal end thereof and an inner lumen. The inner cannula is slidably disposed within the inner lumen of an outer cannula. A vacuum chamber is disposed about at least a portion of the cutting element and is configured to create a vacuum in the cutting element during a biopsy procedure. The inner cannula is advanced distally outwardly and to cause the vacuum to be generated in the vacuum chamber. The vacuum is delivered to the cutting element whereby tissue is drawn into the tissue receiving aperture. The outer cannula is advanced distally outwardly after the inner cannula such that tissue drawn into the tissue cutting aperture is severed.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2013Date of Patent: March 25, 2014Assignee: Suros Surgical Systems, Inc.Inventors: Joseph L. Mark, Michael E. Miller, Michael Hoffa, Zachary R. Nicoson, Terry D. Hardin, Inderjeet S. Jarial, William O. Hodge

Patent number: 7988642Abstract: A biopsy device is disclosed that comprises a cutting element mounted to a handpiece and a vacuum chamber. The cutting element comprises a stylet assembly and an outer cannula assembly. The stylet assembly includes a stylet that includes an open proximal end and a tissue opening at a distal end thereof. The tissue receiving opening is in communication with a lumen extending through the stylet. The outer cannula assembly includes an outer cannula that is slidably mounted over the stylet and has an open distal end with a cutting edge formed thereon. The vacuum chamber is in communication with the lumen of the stylet. The stylet is selectively advanced distally outwardly with respect to outer cannula to expose the tissue opening to targeted tissue. The outer cannula is selectively advanced over the tissue opening to sever tissue, while vacuum is generated in the vacuum chamber and delivered to the tissue opening through the lumen.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2008Date of Patent: August 2, 2011Assignee: Suros Surgical Systems, Inc.Inventors: Terry D. Patent number: 6824183Abstract: A panel or cutting table which is preferably substituted for the tailgate for holding a cuttable item to be worked on and for mounting a tool having a blade and for supporting a cuttable item said device being attachable to a vehicle resting on the ground with an extendable central frame which may be reduced in size to be approximately the size of the panel or tailgate replaced and defining a holding mechanism for holding a saw and other tools so that the tools may be rotated to give the proper cut and also having an aligning rule to control the angle of the blade relative to a second aligning rule which holds the item to be cut square. In addition, the panel has a pair of legs capable of receiving two by fours so that a saw horse is provided. Finally, a scaffolding framework is described so that the panel may be used on hot days with a covering.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2003Date of Patent: November 30, 2004Assignee: William HodgeInventor: William O. Patent number: 6698758Abstract: The invention is a card game having multiple suits where one suit is selected as a bonus suit. Cards of the bonus suit provide a multiplier amount which multiplies the primary wager or a jackpot wager. With a jackpot wager, this multiplier allows the bet to be totally separate from the primary bet so that it can be made with any game where a limited number of cards are dealt. The jackpot wager is not payed unless the primary bet is won.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2002Date of Patent: March 2, 2004Inventor: William O. Hodge

Patent number: 6672641Abstract: A tool box is shown for use with a vehicle having a bed having a length and a width. The vehicle has a back wall having a top, a left side wall having a top and a right side wall having a top. The vehicle has a tailgate. The tool box has a top plate having a wall end and an extended end. The top plate is rotatably attached to the top of the back wall at the wall end. The top plate has a width at least approximately equal to the width of the bed and a front plate runs between the left side wall and the right side wall. The front plate has a bed end and a raised end. The front plate is rotatably attached by pivots at the bed end to the bed of the vehicle at a given location between the tailgate and the back wall. The raised end can be connected to the extended end to form a tool box which may be folded out of place when not in use.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2002Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Inventor: William O. Patent number: 6224127Abstract: A tool holding table mountable onto a car or truck exterior surface frame member, such as the brackets for holding a tailgate is described. Preferably the mounting surface is the tailgate of a truck. The table provides a cutting surface defining an opening for receiving a blade, for example a saw blade so that the blade interrupts the cutting surface so that it may cut material on the cutting surface. The table is also equipped with at least one saw horse. It also provides a power source which allows for it to be operated from a switch on the ground or the side. The saw table is preferably the same size as the vehicle tailgate when folded and unfolds to be large enough to support standard lengths of material to be cut.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1999Date of Patent: May 1, 2001Inventor: William O.
