Patent number: 10907625Abstract: The invention provides an actuator having a wedge shaped member arranged to move in substantially linear reciprocating motion. A drive member is operatively coupled to the wedge shaped member. The wedge shaped member is arranged to deflect the drive member as the wedge shaped member moves. A shape memory material has a first end electrically connected to a first electrical connection terminal and fixed with respect to the first electrical connection terminal, and a second end electrically connected to the wedge shaped member and fixed with respect to the wedge shaped member. The wedge shaped member is electrically connected to a second electrical connection terminal. The actuator may be used in a pump having a pumping chamber with a membrane the displacement of which changes the pumping chamber volume. The drive member of the actuator is operatively coupled to the pumping chamber membrane. The pump may be used in an infusion system for the infusion of a liquid therapeutic product.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2016Date of Patent: February 2, 2021Assignee: VICENTRA B.V.Inventors: Timothy William Oakes, Joseph Cefai

Patent number: 10894123Abstract: The invention generally provides a fluid delivery system comprising: a reservoir (7); a pumping chamber (8) having a volume, an inlet valve (48), an outlet valve (49) and a membrane (47); an actuator (20); and a drive member (21). The inlet valve and the outlet valve each comprise a passive normally closed one-way check valve. The inlet valve provides selective fluid communication between the pumping chamber volume and the reservoir. Fluid in the reservoir is at substantially ambient pressure. The drive member is operatively coupled to the pumping chamber membrane. Energising the actuator moves the drive member in reciprocating motion and thereby displaces the membrane to change the pumping chamber volume between a minimum volume and a maximum volume. The pumping chamber volume is held at a pressure above the ambient pressure in the reservoir when the actuator is at rest.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2016Date of Patent: January 19, 2021Assignee: VICENTRA B.V.Inventors: Timothy William Oakes, Joseph Cefai

Patent number: 10695489Abstract: There is provided a fluid delivery system (100), comprising a pump (102) for pumping fluid from a cartridge (400) to an outlet. The pump comprises a housing (302), a cartridge which can be removably attached to the housing, and a switch (308) for activating the pump. The switch is arranged such that attaching the cartridge to the housing activates the switch to automatically activate the pump. The system may also include a control unit for wireless connection with the pump.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2016Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: VICENTRA B.V.Inventors: Timothy William Oakes, Joseph Cefai

Patent number: 10682461Abstract: A pumping chamber (8) for a micro-pump (2), the pumping chamber having a volume of 100 micro litres or less bounded by an interior wall and having an inlet (87) and an outlet (88), wherein the interior wall has at least one inwardly projecting rib (70) having a first end adjacent the inlet and a second end adjacent the outlet.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2016Date of Patent: June 16, 2020Assignee: VICENTRA B. V.Inventor: Timothy William Oakes

Patent number: 10316729Abstract: An exhaust system having a pipe for conveying exhaust from an engine, the end of which has an outwardly-protruding lip; a first pipe flange having a hole large enough to allow the lipped end of the pipe to pass through it, and a recessed shoulder adjacent the hole; a collar, configured to releasably encircle said first pipe, to abut with the recessed shoulder at its outer periphery, and the lipped end of the pipe at its inner periphery, thereby preventing the collar and lipped pipe assembly from passing through said hole; and a second pipe flange configured to attach to said first pipe flange to connect a tail pipe to the first pipe, and to hold the pipe, flange and collar assembly together. The invention also provides counterweights for counterweighted lift trucks adapted to secure such exhaust systems, and methods of fitting such exhaust systems.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2011Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignee: NEXEN LIFT TRUCKS LIMITEDInventor: William Oakes

Publication number: 20080135079Abstract: An improved yurt assembly for facilitating easy yurt installation and increasing stability, comprising a plurality of expandable lattice wall sections, vertical posts and roof poles. Each lattice wall section includes a plurality of pivotally connected link members. Each of the vertical posts includes a groove on its top end for receiving one of the roof poles, a first slot near its top end, a second slot near its bottom end, and a plurality of intermediate slots between the first and second slots. The first and second and intermediate slots are adapted to receive topmost, bottommost and intermediate corners of the lattice wall sections. The corners of two adjacent lattice wall sections are received into each side of the slots of a vertical post, which maintains the height of the lattice and secures the wall sections during assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2006Publication date: June 12, 2008Inventor: William Oakes
