Patent number: 9216880Abstract: Header assemblies generally used to handle yarns, for example, to facilitate connection of yarns feeding into a tufting machine or other device. In some embodiments, the improved header assembly includes at least a detachable header and a collector plate. The improved header assembly simplifies the process of loading yarn through a detachable header by positioning the detachable header so that it abuts the collectable plate so that individual yarns can be blown through the collector plate through the appropriate holes in the detachable header. In some embodiments, the header assemblies are configured for use with varying gauges, different alignment requirements, different devices, and/or to otherwise be more universal in nature.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2013Date of Patent: December 22, 2015Assignee: Interface, Inc.Inventors: Tammy Michelle Willis, Johnny E. Daugherty, Brian H. Harrell, William Oscar Ingram, III

Patent number: 7773710Abstract: A method and system is provided for improving bit error rate (BER) performance in delay spread fading conditions, such as the fading associated with simulcast systems. BER is improved through novel symbol synchronization that comprises oversampling an input signal and filtering the samples to determine a composite symbol sample point that converges toward the center of the signal's effective eye pattern. The composite symbol sample point may be an average of previous composite symbol sample points and an instantaneous sample point determined based on samples from a synchronization field of the signal. The updated composite symbol sample point may be utilized for future sampling of the incoming signal.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2007Date of Patent: August 10, 2010Assignee: Pine Valley Investments, Inc.Inventors: Richard Duane Taylor, William Oscar Janky

Patent number: 7191117Abstract: A method for generating subtitles for audiovisual material received and analyses a text file containing dialogue spoken in audiovisual material and provides a signal representative of the text. The text information and audio signal are aligned in time using time alignment speech recognition and the text and timing information are then output to a subtitle file. Colors can be assigned to different speakers or groups of speakers. Subtitles are derived by receiving and analyzing a text file containing dialogue spoken by considering each word in turn and the next information signal, assigning a score to each subtitle in a plurality of different possible subtitle formatting options which lead to that word. The steps are then repeated until all the words in the text information signal have been used and the subtitle formatting option which gives the best overall score is then derived.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2001Date of Patent: March 13, 2007Assignee: British Broadcasting CorporationInventors: David Graham Kirby, Christopher Edward Poole, Adam Wiewiorka, William Oscar Lahr

Publication number: 20070034577Abstract: A self-locking grate for a drain fitting body includes a plate having strainer holes and arcuate elongated openings near the periphery of the grate. Enlarged diameter portions of the elongated openings fit over studs connected to a drain, and the grate can be rotated to engage the studs, so that the grate is wedged to the drain fitting body without the use of screws. An inclined ledge, formed in the elongated openings, acts as a cam surface to wedge against the grate as it is rotated into the locked position. Despite the absence of screws, the grate is unlikely to loosen due to vibration or shock. A tool capable of simultaneously engaging distinct holes in the grate can be used to rotate the grate between the locked and unlocked positions. The invention also includes a kit for converting a conventional drain fitting and grate into a drain fitting and grate of the present invention.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2005Publication date: February 15, 2007Inventors: Rod Bayard, William Oscar, Charles Commo, Fulton Oakes
