  • Patent number: 7334285
Abstract: A cleaning attachment which removably holds the cleaning implement such as a scrubber pad or a scrub brush in place on a wringer mop head and will not fall off during the vigorous scrubbing or brushing action because it is locked in place by means of a novel attaching mechanism. The present invention includes the use of an adapter which can be removably affixed to the upper metal surface of the mop head, the adapter having molded into it a receiving channel connected to the upper surface of the adapter, the channel receiving the unique locking members of the present invention attachment mechanism. The attachment comprises an elongated base member which on one side either permanently or removably retains a scrubber pad.

  • Patent number: 7191477
Abstract: A medical assist device relocates patients from a first support such as a bed to a second support such as a chair or wheelchair. Upon location of the assist device to a position adjacent such first support, the patient may stand on a rotatable platform of the assist device. Upon actuation of the motor, preferably by a remote controller, the platform is caused to slowly rotate through a desired angular path to position the patient adjacent the second support. A steadying structure is provided for gripping by the patient. Under one embodiment, the steadying structure is designed to be collapsible. Mounted on a frame with the rotatable platform is a seat and wheels for moving a patient across a room or from room to room.

  • Patent number: 6408474
Abstract: A paint brush includes a two component brush handle having a head portion made of a relatively rigid plastic material and a grip portion made of a relatively soft, flexible elastomeric material. The head portion has one end adapted to fit within the ferrule of a brush and an other end having an integral web portion protruding axially outwardly therefrom about which the grip portion is over molded to secure the grip portion to the head portion. One or more openings are provided in the web portion through which the material of the grip portion is caused to extend during the over molding step to provide a mechanical connection between the grip portion and head portion.

  • Patent number: 6026530
Abstract: A mop for use on a surface to be cleaned includes a handle and a mop head attached to one end of the handle. A pair of parallel, spaced apart, uniquely-shaped rollers are rotatably mounted on the mop head. Each roller has an essentially round first surface and an essentially flat second surface extending tangently from the first surface. A sponge material is interposed and selectively movable between the first surfaces of the pair of rollers and includes a tip for contacting the surface to be cleaned. The first and second surfaces of the rollers are capable of selectively wringing the sponge material, including the tip, of water.

  • Patent number: 5903952
Abstract: A paint roller frame includes a handle having a radial bore and a wire shank having an outer end for rotatably supporting a paint roller cover and an inner end rotatably received in the bore. The outer end of the wire shank extends at an angle relative to the inner end whereby turning movement of the inner end within the bore will cause a change in the orientation of the outer end and thus the paint roller cover supported thereby relative to the handle. Between the inner and outer ends of the wire shank is an intermediate portion including a radial leg extending at a right angle relative to the inner end which is spring biased into engagement with any one of a plurality of notches in an end wall of the handle surrounding the bore for retaining the outer end of the wire shank in any one of a plurality of different orientations relative to the handle.

  • Patent number: 5857241
Abstract: A handle for a paint roller frame includes an inner core made of a substantially rigid plastic material and an outer grip made of a softer rubber-like material surrounding the inner core and extending part way around both ends thereof. At the outer end of the inner core is an internally threaded opening surrounded by a planar end wall. The outer grip includes an outer end portion overlying the planar end wall which acts like a locking washer, resisting unscrewing of an extension pole from the threaded opening when the extension pole is screwed down tight and a flange at a base of the extension pole threads comes into contact with the outer end portion of the outer grip overlying the planar end wall.
