    Abstract: A computer network is provided that includes a wide area network and a local area network. The local area network includes an application server, a plurality of client computers, a content delivery server, and a network-attached storage device. The content delivery server has data storage capacity. The content delivery server is operable to be implemented as a supplemental application server when the file server is inoperable. The network-attached storage device has data storage capacity wherein the wide area network transmits data for storage by the network-attached storage device through the content delivery server during a period of low demand for bandwidth between the local area network and the wide area network.
