  • Patent number: 5003642
Abstract: A foreign matter trap for use in a drain such as a shower or sink drain in which water flows downwardly through a drain pipe, the trap having an element for removably positioning in the drain pipe including a downwardly extending longitudinal member, a plurality of layers of foreign matter catching members extending generally radially from the longitudinal member, each layer being formed of a plurality of spaced apart spicule members, the spicule members of each layer covering less than a complete cross-sectional circumferential area leaving a portion free for the flow of water therepast, the layers being arranged so that the spicule members in adjacent upper layers extend over and above the free cross-sectional areas of the next lower layer so that water may continue to flow through the drain even when the spicule members of any layer are completely closed by trapped foreign matter.

  • Patent number: 4510825
Abstract: A multi-mode wrench comprised of a drive head and a housing in which a drive system is positioned together with an axially and rotatably movable handle for selecting among various operating modes offered by that drive system. The wrench, accordingly, provides for a wide variety of bolt or nut tightening or loosening operations, making such work in especially tight or confined areas easier where it might not otherwise be possible to move wrenches in a normal oscillating fashion to apply torque to adequately tighten or loosen a connection.

  • Patent number: 4181559
Abstract: Apparatus and method for sequentially applying predetermined lengths of pressure sensitive tape having an exposed tacky side onto a continuous web of flexible material in spaced relationship. Means are provided for continuously moving the web past a predetermined tape applying position, for conveying a continuous strip of tape from a source through a rotary cutting assembly, and for conveying the cut strips of tape sequentially to the tape applying position into contact with the web wherein during conveyance of the tape areas devoid of adhesive are engaged.
