  • Patent number: 11605107
Abstract: A system for providing advertisements with search results in response to a search query comprises a front end and an advertisement server. The front end is configured: to receive a search query; to send a first search request to a search server and sending a first advertisement request to an advertisement server, wherein the first search request includes the search query or information based on the search query, and wherein the first advertisement request includes the search query or information based on the search query and an indication that an advertisement response is not to be provided; to receive search results from the search server; and to send at least some of the search results to the advertisement server in a second advertisement request, wherein the second advertisement request includes an indication that an advertisement response is to be provided.

  • Patent number: 11093607
Abstract: The subject matter of this specification generally relates to computer security. In some implementations, a method includes maintaining a first data structure that stores arrays of identifier tuples. Each identifier tuple corresponds to a respective computer security event and includes one or more identifiers for a computing element associated with the computer security event. Each array of identifier tuples corresponds to a respective identifier and only includes identifier tuples that include the corresponding identifier. A second data structure that stores arrays of computer security data is maintained. Each array of computer security data corresponds to a respective identifier tuple stored in the first data structure and only includes computer security data associated with each identifier in the corresponding identifier tuple. A query that specifies a first identifier for a first computing element is received.

  • Patent number: 10049386
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus include computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium for selecting content. A method includes: receiving an initial request for content that is to be presented along with search results responsive to a search request; identifying one or more eligible content items from the candidate content items that satisfy the initial request; receiving information describing the search results; re-processing the initial request using the information including one or more of adding other eligible content items, removing one or more previously eligible content items, adjusting a quality score or a bid associated with one or more eligible content items, or re-ranking the eligible content items; conducting an auction based on ranked eligible content items; and selecting one or more content items from among the eligible content items based on the results of the auction and transmitting the selected one or more content items.

  • Patent number: 5962320
Abstract: Autologous, heterologous or xenogeneic primary cells or cell lines are genetically modified ex vivo to render the cells capable of processing and presenting selected antigens to cells of the immune system of a subject, and to express different HLA molecules for matching to the HLA specificity of the subject. The cells are also modified to express immunoregulatory molecules for directing the immune response of the subject. The cells and cell lines are used in methods to treat infectious diseases or cancer, or to prevent infectious disease by inoculation into a host to activate T cells and induce an antigen-specific immune response, and in assays of the cytolytic activity of a subject's T cells. The cells can also be used to suppress an unwanted immune response of a subject to a selected antigen where the cells lack expression of a costimulation molecule needed for T cell activation.

  • Patent number: 5738852
Abstract: Recombinant polynucleotides are provided that confer at least partial immunity on an individual to an infectious intracellular pathogenic agent. The recombinant polynucleotides encode a costimulatory factor and/or a target antigen polypeptide. The immune response that confers the immunity results from the expression of both polypeptides in an antigen presenting cell in the individual. The immunity is to the pathogenic agent that naturally encodes the target antigen polypeptide.

  • Patent number: 4140761
Abstract: Interferon introduced parenterally in a human host or stimulated by an inducer (PICLC) for a period of greater than 21 days results in a major decrease in all markers of infectivity, such as DNA polymerase, and such markers remain at a depressed level during the period of treatment. Where PICLC is utilized to induce interferon in the host, a serum level of 50 units per milliliter or higher is necessary for effective clinical treatment and 17 .times. 10.sup.4 - 6.0 .times. 10.sup.3 U/kg/day is an effective dose for exogenous interferon. Especially long-term treatment with exogenous interferon of greater than 21 days and up to 14 months results in clinical improvement for chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and this long-term treatment has resulted in sustained improvement even after cessation of treatment as well as resulting in a decrease in infectivity risk to others in close proximity to the infected human host. Such clinical improvement is marked by normalization of liver histology.
