  • Publication number: 20070249304
Abstract: A radio frequency power amplifier includes a feedback control system coupled to an input signal and a first feedback signal and configured to provide an output; a controlled supply configured to provide power that is controlled in accordance with a signal; and a radio frequency gain stage powered from the controlled supply, driven by the output from the feedback control system, and configured to provide an output signal at the radio frequency to a resonant load, where the first feedback signal corresponds to the output signal. Some embodiments include a sequencer in the feedback control system and others utilize an additional feedback loop to control the power provided by the controlled supply.

  • Publication number: 20060217087
Abstract: A radio frequency power amplifier and corresponding method is arranged and configured to drive a resonant load. The radio frequency power amplifier includes a radio frequency switching stage with an output that is coupled to a resonant circuit. The switching stage is configured to provide an output signal with amplitude modulation corresponding to amplitude modulation of an input signal when powered from a fixed voltage power supply. The amplifier further includes a feedback control system coupled to the input signal and the output signal, where the feedback control system includes a sequencer configured to provide a sequencer output that is used to drive the radio frequency switching stage. The amplifier also includes an amplitude control system coupled to the output of the radio frequency switching stage and configured to limit an amplitude of the output signal and in some embodiments a power recovery system.

  • Publication number: 20060217089
Abstract: A radio frequency power amplifier and corresponding methods are arranged and configured to drive or provide a radio frequency signal to a resonant load. The amplifier includes a radio frequency switching stage with an output that is coupled to a resonant circuit and configured to provide an output signal with amplitude modulation corresponding to amplitude modulation of an input signal when powered from a fixed voltage power supply and a feedback control system coupled to the input signal and the output signal. The feedback control system includes a sequencer configured to provide a sequencer output that is used to drive the radio frequency switching stage, where the sequencer output has an OFF state that begins at a variable time corresponding to the input and output signal.

  • Publication number: 20060217086
Abstract: A radio frequency power amplifier and corresponding methods are arranged and configured to drive a resonant load with an output signal that includes AM or complex modulation from an input signal. The amplifier includes: a radio frequency switching stage with an output that is coupled to a resonant circuit and configured to provide the output signal when powered from a fixed voltage power supply; a feedback control system, coupled to the input signal and the output signal, and further comprising a sequencer configured to provide a sequencer output that is used to drive the radio frequency switching stage; and a second feedback system responsive to the sequencer output and configured to provide a second feedback signal that is coupled to the feedback control system, where the sequencer output has an OFF state that begins at a variable time corresponding to the input signal, the output signal, and the second feedback signal.

  • Publication number: 20060120285
Abstract: A wireless local loop system manages radio data transmission capacity and network resources shared by a plurality of subscriber stations by considering the type of connections desired to be created to the subscriber stations and the radio data transmission capacity, and in some cases QoS parameters, and network resources required for those connections. The subscriber stations include data and telephony ports and can include a subscriber utilization client (SUC) to assist in the management process. The SUC in each subscriber station communicates with a network utilization manager (NUM) to request network resources from the base station. The NUM determines the requirements, in data transmission capacity and/or QoS levels, for the desired connection and considers the utilization of the network resources at the base station, or sector of the base station, in determining whether to establish the desired connection.

  • Publication number: 20050111363
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to telecommunications, and more specifically, to an improved operating system and apparatus for telecommunications networks. Currently, the majority of telecommunication services are provided over the Public Switched Telephone Network and Internet. Existing telephony systems suffer from a number of problems including system complexity, limited access and implementation of services on fixed hardware, which results in long time to bring new products to market. Internet applications cannot guarantee quality of service in the transmission. These systems are therefore inflexible and inefficient which limits their ability to carry new services. The invention provides a distributed and real-time operating system for use over varied telecommunications networks. As well, methods of implementing synchronized execution, fault tolerance and loading management over this network, are also described.
