  • Patent number: 11968700
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for providing network access services to mobile users via mobile terminals over a satellite system. In embodiments, dynamic multiplexing of traffic from fixed terminals and mobile users on the same satellite beam can take advantage of statistical multiplexing of large numbers of users and on different usage patterns between fixed terminals and mobile users. In embodiments, quality-of-service (QoS) is controlled for mobile devices at a per-user level. Mobile users may be provisioned on the satellite system according to a set of traffic policies based on their service level agreement (SLA). System resources of the satellite may be allocated to mobile users based on the demand of each mobile user and the set of traffic polices associated with each mobile user, regardless of which mobile terminal is used to access the system.

  • Patent number: 7103985
Abstract: An aircraft frame stringer is checked against designed specifications using a set of templates with stringer-engaging, upwardly-facing surfaces that match the designed contours of sections of the stringer at different locations along the length of the stringer. The templates are removably supported in mutually aligned and spaced relationship on a base assembly. The stringer is placed on the templates and measurements are made to determine if the stringer contours at the different locations match, within acceptable tolerance limits, the template contours at those locations. A computer model is used to determine the contours of the sections of the stringer at the desired locations thereon and to control the operation of a CNC machine for machining the templates.

  • Patent number: 6781379
Abstract: A cable routing system for an MRI coil having multiple loops and multiple signal cables provides a non-resonant conductive ring surrounding the loops and grounded to define a low electrical field region along which the signal cables may be routed for reduced interference.

  • Patent number: 5747697
Abstract: A strain gage device that includes a split collar having a pair of hinged half sections arranged to close in pressure contact against a structural member bearing a strain inducing load. Each half section further contains a flexible ligament that is held in pressure contact against the member when the collar is closed. Strain gages are mounted on the back side of each ligament for sensing the amount of strain experienced by the structural member.

  • Patent number: 5574008
Abstract: N-terminal truncated forms of glucagon like insulinotropic peptide (GLP-1) and analogs thereof are provided. The claimed polypeptides promote glucose uptake by cells but do not stimulate insulin expression or secretion. The invention also provides methods for treating diabetes and pharmaceutical formulations comprising the claimed polypeptides.

  • Patent number: 3978757
Abstract: Separate areas of a display board are selectively activated either separately or in various combinations to illustrate a chord diagram, a fingerboard diagram, and/or a musical staff diagram. Lamps in each of the three diagrams are illuminated responsive to the playing of a specially constructed stringed instrument by the instructor to illustrate finger positions in the case of the chord diagram and the fingerboard diagram, and to illustrate musical position of the notes played on the scale diagram. One or more lock-in switches cause the activated lamps to remain lighted after the strings of the musical instrument are released by the instructor. Finally a digital readout lamp associated with each string on the chord diagram illustrates the finger which should be used to depress the corresponding string at the location indicated by the lamp.
