  • Patent number: 7926730
Abstract: A document printed marking including a first information marking including first luminescent taggants having a first luminescence wavelength band; and a second information marking printed at least partially on the first information marking at an overlap location. The second information marking includes second different luminescent taggant having a second different luminescence wavelength band. The second luminescence wavelength band is spaced from the first luminescence wavelength band such that the first information marking and the second information marking are substantially luminescently non-intrusive with each other at the overlap location.

  • Patent number: 6296404
Abstract: A method of producing a label for a mailpiece having a postal indicium printed thereon including the following steps: (i) providing a user with a label stock including a plurality of labels; (ii) prompting the user to provide an input of a label position indicator corresponding to a selected one of the plurality of labels; (iii) feeding the label stock through a printer; and (iv) printing the postal indicium on the selected label.

  • Patent number: 5826247
Abstract: A method for mail accounting and payment includes creating a mail batch including a plurality of mailpieces and creating a statement of mailing containing data relating to the mail batch. The statement of mailing is digitally signed to facilitate a subsequent verification of the integrity of the data in the statement of mailing. The digital signature is included as part of the statement of mailing. The statement of mailing is submitted to a transaction processing center. The transaction processing center initiates a funds transfer to a carrier delivery service for carrier delivery services payment for the batch of mail. The statement of mailing or other mailing data may be stored in a nonvolatile memory means. The nonvolatile memory means allows the statement of mailing to be stored therein and erased therefrom but not modified.

  • Patent number: 4533962
Abstract: A method and apparatus for sensing and recording diverse operational and performance characteristics of automotive vehicles and the like has a plurality of transducers directly associated with different mechanical functions of the vehicle for sensing their operating characteristics in relation to time as well as generating analog signals representative of certain functions and combining them with digital signals representing other functions. A signal converter encodes signals from the transducers and converts the signals in predetermined order into digital data signals. Each succession of signals generated are temporarily stored. A recorder then records information stored serially and enables ready access to and identification of each event or condition.
