Publication number: 20040196461Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of managing color. A submission created by a product vendor is received. The submission is analyzed by a third party by, at least, electronic means. The analysis of the submission by the third party is communicated to a retailer.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2003Publication date: October 7, 2004Applicant: Clariant International Ltd.Inventors: Niraj Agarwal, Douglas A. Bynum, William T. Sherrill

Patent number: 6537333Abstract: A process for dyeing a fibrous substrate which comprises the steps of: providing a fibrous substrate; providing at least one sulfur dye; providing at least one reduction stable direct dye; and applying said reduction stable direct dye and sulfur dye to said fibrous substrate in the presence of a suitable reducing agent. Further, it has been surprising to find that these reduction stable direct dyes can be processed without a sulfur dye present. This results in a process for dyeing a fibrous substrate which comprises the steps of: providing a fibrous substrate; providing a reduction stable direct dye; and applying said reduction stable direct dye to said fibrous substrate in the presence of a suitable reducing agent.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2001Date of Patent: March 25, 2003Assignee: Clariant Finance (BVI) LimitedInventors: J. Michael Hipp, Mark S. Carlough, William T. Sherrill, Peter J. V. Stahala

Publication number: 20020169513Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for color management by a retailer comprising the steps of: choosing an engineered color standard (ECS); communicating the ECS to a product vendor; having a product produced using the ECS; and controlling the product's color quality by comparing the ECS to the produced product. The ECS preferably comprises reflectance data and a dye specification.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2001Publication date: November 14, 2002Applicant: Clariant International, Ltd.Inventors: William T. Sherrill, Douglas A. Bynum, Bradley W. McClanahan, Niraj Agarwal

Patent number: 5887577Abstract: An apparatus (10) for propelling a projectile generally vertically upward includes a Y-shaped member (12) having a shaft (14) and a pair of elongated arms (16) attached to an upper end of the shaft and extending upward therefrom in spaced-apart relation. The shaft slides telescopingly into a hollow tubular ferrule (20) attached to the top end of an elongated pole (18) and is secured within the ferrule by a spring-biased pin (30), the shaft forming an extension of the pole. The arms have upper curved portions (42) each of which curves through an angle substantially greater than 90 degrees, so that the free ends (44) of the arms define a direction that has a substantial component parallel to the pole toward the bottom end (48) thereof. A sling assembly (34) is attached via elastic tubing (38) to the arms, free ends of the tubing being sleeved over the curved portions of the arms.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1997Date of Patent: March 30, 1999Inventor: William T. Patent number: 5056240Abstract: The present invention is related to an overshoe for receiving a shoe or boot that has mud or dirt thereon so as to permit a person entering a house or other clean environment to enter without depositing mud therein. The overshoe includes a sole with an upper portion for overlying the toe of the shoe. The overshoe further includes an upstanding lip attached to the edges at the heel to retain mud or dirt inside the overshoe while further providing a large generally opened heel arrangement to permit easy insertion and retraction of a shoe or boot. The overshoe further includes tabs at the forward and rearward ends thereof to provide means for restraining the overshoe to easily remove and attach it in a hands free manner.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1989Date of Patent: October 15, 1991Inventor: William T.
