Abstract: Methods and systems for managing a fantasy competition. The methods and systems include creating a fantasy competition, enrolling participants, beginning the competition, providing data to participants during the competition, finishing the competition, and determining a winner. Participants may create a teams from a plurality of available athletes such as from a predetermined list of athletes. Participants may modify their teams to include or remove athletes, such as prior to or after the beginning of the competition. The modifications may be limited in number. The modifications may occur while at least one of the athletes is competing in a real-world sporting event. The winner may be determined by awarding points to participants based on the composition of the participants' team. The points awarded may correspond to the real-world performance of the athletes on the participants' team, such as while the athletes were included on the participants' team.

Abstract: A method for correcting bias in altimetry data for ascending satellite tracks and descending satellite tracks. For satellites operating in tandem, calculate ascending track bias between the height measurement made by the first and the second satellites for the ascending tracks in a region, calculate an ascending bias correction by least squares fitting a polynomial to the bias as a function of significant wave height for the ascending tracks, and apply a portion of the ascending track bias to the sea surface height measurements. The correction can be calculated based on only one track and its crossover points. Another embodiment uses data from only one satellite, estimates the sea state bias at the crossover points separately for the ascending and descending tracks, and apportions a percentage of the difference at the crossover points to the tracks based on minimizing the rms differences between the ascending and descending tracks.

This process can allow retrieval of the reports over a distributed computing network. The process includes a data services process that maintains at least one report batch file, where each report batch file is scheduled by a user to be executed at a specific time and contains a list of reports to be generated when the report batch file is executed.

Abstract: A report group management process resides on a server and groups a plurality of reports for retrieval over a distributed computing network by an application program residing on a remote desktop computer. A report group definition process defines a user-defined report group and an individual report selection process selects, from a plurality of available individual reports, at least a first report to be included in the user-defined report group.
