    Abstract: A eBook generation system generates a time-synchronized, talking electronic book (“eBook”). The system uses searchable digital text of a work of authorship and corresponding marker data to generate eBook text data. Using an audio narration recording of the work and the generated eBook text data, the system generates synchronized text-to-audio metadata that associates a plurality of components of the eBook text data with time the components present in the audio narration recording. Furthermore, the system uses generated synchronized text-to-audio metadata and bibliographic metadata associated with the work to generate navigation control data that is capable of being used by an eBook reading device for navigational control of the display of eBook text data and playing of the audio narration recording.
