  • Publication number: 20070255234
Abstract: An implantable delivery device including a housing, a port assembly, and a plurality of grooves. The housing includes an outer wall defining an exterior face. The port assembly includes a septum and a port opening that is exteriorly open relative to the housing face. The plurality of grooves are formed in the exterior face proximate the port opening, and are sized to receive a needle tip to guide the needle tip toward the port opening. In one embodiment, the port assembly is fluidly connected to a reservoir, such that the port assembly constitutes a reservoir refill port.

  • Publication number: 20060247753
Abstract: A medical device that includes a lead having a lead body extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and a housing having a connector block for receiving the proximal end of the lead body. A fixation tip is positioned at the distal end of the lead body, and a plurality of fixation members extend from the fixation tip from a fixation member proximal end to a fixation member distal end. The plurality of fixation members are capable of being advanced from a first position corresponding to the fixation member distal end being positioned along the lead during subcutaneous placement of the lead, to a second position corresponding to the fixation member distal end being positioned away from the lead to fixedly engage the lead at a target site.

  • Publication number: 20060243625
Abstract: The present invention relates to a family of medical device packages designed and fabricated to provide instantaneous recognition as to the source and origin of a sterilized medical device stored therein and for passively retaining said medical device and related items in a desired manually accessible location within the package. The invention provides apparatus and methods for safely transporting, storing, identifying source and origin of, opening, packing and unpacking, evenly balanced packages containing sterilized implantable medical devices (IMDs). The packages and methods of the invention also are designed with features and structures that efficiently enhance the mechanical stability of one or more of the packages when stored in inventory at a clinic, in transport, and on an initial packaging site, and promote ease of handling and complement implant procedure efficiency in the operating room.

  • Publication number: 20050194391
Abstract: A dynamically configurable medical device and information container is disclosed. The container includes ergonomic features that enable ease of handling and unloading of the contents of the container. Specifically, a configurable section serves as an ergonomic gripping section and a containment section. The container also includes tamper-proof strips that are visible indications of prior opening or tampering with the container. Furthermore, vent holes are implemented to release sterilization gas residues to limit the sterilization gas content of the container.
