  • Publication number: 20110300014
Abstract: A shunt pulsation trap for a rotary lobe blower (pump) or vacuum pump reduces pulsation, NVH and improves efficiency without increasing overall size of the blower or pump. Generally, a rotary lobe blower (pump) or vacuum pump with the shunt pulsation trap has a pair of interconnected and synchronized parallel multi-lobe rotors housed in a transfer chamber with the same number of lobes for propelling flow from a suction port to a discharge port of the transfer chamber without internal compression. The shunt pulsation trap comprises an inner casing as an integral part of the transfer chamber, and an outer casing oversized surrounding the inner casing, therein housed various pulsation dampening means or pulsation energy recovery means or pulsation containment means, at least one injection port (trap inlet) branching off from the transfer chamber into the pulsation trap chamber and at least one feedback port (trap outlet) communicating with the blower outlet pressure.

  • Publication number: 20090142212
Abstract: A rotary blower with noise abatement jacket enclosure having multiple interconnected and synchronized parallel multi-lobe rotors with the same number of lobes for propelling flow from a suction port to a discharge port of an inner casing without internal compression. The noise abatement jacket enclosure is shaped to surround the blower and to conform generally to its body contours, but is oversized to provide adequate cooling spaces with outer skin of the blower. It comprises a forced air cooling jacket comprising an inner and outer cover, a sound absorbent layer comprising an inner and outer surface, the inner surface in contact with the blower outer cooling cover, and a sound barrier layer comprising an inner surface in contact with the outer surface of the sound absorbent layer.

  • Publication number: 20090110583
Abstract: This invention involves a rotary blower with super-charged injection cooling having multiple interconnected and synchronized parallel multi-lobe rotors with the same number of lobes for propelling flow from a suction port to a discharge port of an inner casing without using internal compression. The embodiments incorporate manifolds near the blower discharge port acting as super-charging inlet port injecting air at the elevated pressure over the blower discharge pressure to cool the impellers and internal casing. The cooling air supply could be piped from an external compressed air source or could be generated by one or more fans mounted on the rotors own shafts.

  • Publication number: 20070094378
Abstract: Novel storage area networks (SANs) and methods of operation thereof utilize a plurality of hosts coupled via an interconnect with one or more storage units. A manager device, process or other functionality in communication with a plurality of agent processes, devices or other functionality, each of which is associated with a host. The agents identify attributes of (i) their associated hosts, (ii) interconnect to which that host is coupled, and/or (iii) storage units to which that host is coupled via the interconnect. The manager responds to these attributes identified by the agents to manage the SAN. The manager can be implemented on a first digital data processor and the hosts on further digital data processors. These digital data processors can be coupled via a first network, e.g., an IP or other network, to support communications between the manager and the agents. A second network, e.g.

  • Publication number: 20060122980
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program for selectively removing entities from a user interface displaying network entities. A discovery database includes information on at least one network, and, for each network, information on entities in the network and a status of the entities. A user interface display is generated indicating the entities in one network that are available and unavailable. User selection is received of at least one entity in the network that is displayed as unavailable, wherein at least one displayed unavailable entity is not selected. User selection is received to remove the selected at least one entity and the selected at least one entity and any underlying entities within the selected entity are removed in response to the user selection to remove the selected at least one entity.

  • Publication number: 20060041656
Abstract: A digital data processing apparatus of the type that manages a SAN includes a first queue with entries representing tasks and a second queue with entries representing data that correspond to those tasks. Data in the second queue is grouped in accord with the task to which they correspond. A manager service updates the internal representation of the SAN (e.g., the representation of the SAN topology) by executing the tasks in the first queue one at a time, for example, atomically using a single-threaded process.
