  • Patent number: 11808063
Abstract: A method and device for unlatching a door from a frame, using a keyless door latch system, is provided. In one embodiment, a secondary unlocking component receives a signal and derives power from the signal to provide a power source for the keyless door latch system. A microcontroller generates a control signal and an actuator, in response to receiving the control signal, actuates the secondary unlocking component, which allows an energy source, from an exterior of the door, to be transferred to the keyless door latch system for the unlatching of the door.

  • Publication number: 20220111566
Abstract: A system and method for achieving a one component growable resin system includes a quantity of growable resin and a quantity of growth initiator. The quantity of growable resin is in a final solid state, and the quantity of growth initiator is in an inactive form. A usable initiator portion, that includes a plurality of resin molecules and is from the quantity of growth initiator, contacts a usable resin portion, from the quantity of growable resin. Being in an inactive form, the usable initiator portion is unable to cause resin growth by being physically inactive or by being physically separate from the usable resin portion. The usable initiator portion is activated to initiate a chemical reaction amongst the plurality of molecules. The chemical reaction results with growth in the usable resin portion by increasing the molecular weight of the usable resin portion.

  • Patent number: 8380390
Abstract: A system and method for determining characteristics of a trailer being towed by a vehicle. The trailer is coupled to the vehicle using a trailer hitch using at least one intelligent bolt or fastener. The intelligent fastener has structural characteristics similar to those of traditional bolts for fastening a trailer to a vehicle (e.g., shear strength, diameter, etc.), but the intelligent fastener is configured to sense forces at a junction between the trailer and the vehicle. An ESC system receives force readings from the intelligent fastener sensors along with signals from a plurality of other sensors and determines one or more characteristics of the trailer. The ESC system compensates the motion of the vehicle based on the forces sensed at the junction and the characteristics of the trailer.

  • Patent number: 8322483
Abstract: An apparatus for determining an amount of rotation of a rotatable component that rotates with respect to a stationary component. The apparatus includes a cable with a first end fixed to the rotatable component and a second end fixed to the stationary component. The cable, which supports a sensing element, is configured to wind or unwind when the rotatable component rotates with respect to the stationary component. The sensing element extends along a length of the cable and is configured to flex in response to the winding or unwinding of the cable. The sensing element has a resistance that changes in response to flexion of the sensing element. An evaluation circuit is connected to the sensing element and is configured to determine a value having a relation to the resistance and determine the amount of rotation based on the value.

  • Publication number: 20120035824
Abstract: In an electric circuit whose behavior is changed corresponding to a peripheral environment, an abnormality detection device can surely detect abnormality in the electric circuit even in a state where a value of the peripheral environment cannot be specified. An abnormality detection device according to the present invention detects abnormality in a detection circuit (112) which detects a specific kind of physical quantity. The abnormality detection device includes an abnormality detection part (220a) which changes magnitude of a power source voltage (Vcc?) which is supplied to the detection circuit (112), and detects abnormality in the detection circuit based on an output signal (Vo2) from the detection circuit at a power source voltage (Vc2) after the change.
