  • Patent number: 10476685
Abstract: In one embodiment, the method includes inserting an access node along a subscriber loop, the access node including a bypass switch for initially connecting a terminal segment of the subscriber loop to a network segment of the subscriber loop; operating a legacy communication service over the subscriber loop; and connecting a PSE for reverse power feeding of the access node and a new subscriber device for operating the new broadband communication service to the terminal segment.

    Filed: May 23, 2016
Date of Patent: November 12, 2019
    Assignee: Alcatel Lucent

  • Patent number: 9672136
Abstract: A crosstalk emulator for a cable, preferably a xDSL telecommunication cable, represented by several emulation paths each comprising a first segment (L1a/L4a) serially connected to a second segment (L1b/L4b) on a printed circuit board PCB. The first and second segments of a same emulation path form an angle, e.g. of about 90 degrees, at their junction point. All the emulation paths have a same length and preferably run in parallel over the PCB. As a result, each emulation path crosses only once (X21) any other emulation path at a cross-point. Furthermore, the area occupied by the crosstalk emulator on the PCB is reduced with respect to a matrix topology, whereby the present topology can easily be extended to large numbers of couplings, allowing design guidance for a passive coupling emulator with a large amount of coupling elements (CP) at the cross-points.

  • Publication number: 20160248478
Abstract: A transmit circuitry for transmitting data between a distribution point unit and an end-user device, comprising a line driver configured for amplifying a data signal to be transmitted over a copper pair between said distribution point unit and said end-user device; an input for receiving a signal for setting said line driver in a power-up mode or a power-down mode; a controllable impedance regulator adapted for regulating an output impedance of the transmit circuitry seen by the copper pair; wherein said controllable impedance regulator is further arranged for being controlled by said input in order to regulate said output impedance when the line driver is in the power-down mode.

  • Publication number: 20120187765
Abstract: In one embodiment, a line termination unit includes line driver for driving a transmission line, with a first supply voltage input terminal and a second supply voltage input terminal, a power supply, with an analog supply voltage output terminal for feeding an analog part of the line termination unit, and at least one digital supply voltage output terminal for feeding a digital part of the line termination unit, and a ground voltage reference. The analog supply voltage output terminal is coupled to the first supply voltage input terminal, and the line termination unit further includes a selector for selectively coupling one of the at least one digital supply voltage output terminal or the ground voltage reference to the second supply voltage input terminal.
