  • Patent number: 11060616
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus for adjusting the flow of a fluid within a conduit, comprising a slide plate with a flat body and a fixed plate with a flat body. The slide plate and fixed plate have openings on their bodies. At a fully closed position, the openings of the slide plate do not substantially overlap with the openings of the fixed plate. By rotation of an actuator shaft and drive pin disposed thereon, the slide plate may move relative to the fixed plate, whereby the openings of the slide plate begin overlapping with the opening of the fixed plate, thereby allowing flow of fluid through the openings. Sequentially or independently from the movement of the slide plate, rotation of the actuator shaft may cause the fixed plate to rotate relative to the walls of the conduit, whereby flow of fluid may pass through the opening between the conduit and fixed plate assembly.

  • Patent number: 4796803
Abstract: Disclosed is an air volume regulator valve for an air distribution apparatus for heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems having a first open position, a closed position and a second open position and means for maintaining relatively constant volume of airflow under changing air inlet pressures. The valve may be cylindrical, flat or corrugated and has a "dead band" feature to allow the valve to better assist in controlling temperature of a room or plenum chamber to be heated or cooled.

  • Patent number: 4786231
Abstract: A fan assembly which has an air inlet that combines the function of absorbing fan noise and the function of streamlining air intake. A continuous strip of sound absorbing material is mounted on a perforated support and is wrapped in an overlapping manner which, when placed with the fan, dampens fan noises, as well as allows acceleration and uniformity of distribution of incoming airflow.

  • Patent number: 4726285
Abstract: An air distribution apparatus having a plurality of dimples, each having small openings. The dimples having small openings provide a simple structure for causing air to be discharged from the air diffuser unit parallel to the base of the unit.
