  • Patent number: 5006077
Abstract: A multiple piece terminal includes a first section which is stationary relative to the housing of the connector and rotatable sections which are rotatable relative to the first section. Each of the sections is comprised of a single thickness of metallic material wrapped into a substantially cylinderical configuration, where the rotatable sections are of a larger outer diameter than the first section such that the rotatable sections can engagingly overlie the first section. The first section is mounted to an insulative housing with a post section upstanding through the center of the first section. The post has at least one through opening which includes at least partially along its length, a frusto-conical section for wire section through the opening. The rotatable sections of the terminal has two wire receiving openings, each in communication with a wire-receiving slot around the circumference of the cylinder, with the two wire receiving openings being on opposed sides of the through opening on the post.

  • Patent number: 4795364
Abstract: An electrical terminal includes a barrel terminal having an L-shaped slot which includes a vertical portion which extends to the upper edge of the terminal, the vertical portion being in transition with a horizontal portion extending partially around the terminal. A cap which is profiled for receipt over the terminal includes an opening which is disposed diagonally through the cap relative the length of the cap. The cap also includes a window which exposes the opening from the end face of the cap for viewing the location of the opening and for viewing the insertion of the wire into the opening. Upon insertion of the wire into the cap, placing the wire in the opening and placing a tool over the cap which pushes the wire into the vertical slot, rotation of the cap and tool moves the wire into the horizontal portion of the L-shaped slot and terminates the end of the wire in a wire receiving slot.

  • Patent number: 4705340
Abstract: A barrel-shaped terminal has two spiralled walls forming a cylinder of double thickness material. The terminal has two wire receiving openings, each in communication with a wire-receiving slot around the circumference of the cylinder. A cap fits over the terminal and has a central opening aligned with both wire-receiving openings. When a wire is placed in through the cap and the cap turned, the wire is terminated in a wire-receiving slot.

  • Patent number: 4637675
Abstract: A barrel-shaped terminal has two spiraled walls forming a cylinder of double thickness material. The terminal has a wire receiving opening in communication with a wire-receiving slot running around the circumference of the cylinder. Placing a wire in a wire receiving opening and rotating the wire with respect to the axis of the cylinder, terminates the conductor of the wire in the wire receiving slot.

  • Patent number: 4370529
Abstract: A miniature switching device, intended for mounting on a circuit board, is disclosed comprising a housing, having at least one switch cavity therein. Each switch cavity has therein an actuator and a spring contact member. When the switch is mounted on a circuit board, the spring contacts are directly engageable with fixed contact points on a circuit board. The switch has multiple, as well as single, function capability.

  • Patent number: 4363529
Abstract: Stamped and formed sheet metal terminal device has improved mounting means for mounting terminal on a circuit board. Mounting means comprises first and second coextensive mounting legs extending from the terminal and having free ends which are remote from the terminal. The legs have retaining portions adjacent to the terminal and reduced width portions extending from the retaining portions to the free ends. Camming means are provided on the reduced width portions which cause the retaining portions to move apart during final stages of movement of the legs into the circuit board hole and thereby establish an interference fit of the legs in the circuit board hole.

  • Patent number: 4336431
Abstract: A resilient platelike spring contact member is disclosed of the type which is mounted on a circuit board in covering relationship to a first conductor and in electrical contact with a second conductor so that the platelike member can be flexed into engagement with the first conductor to establish a circuit path to the second conductor. The platelike member has a pair of legs extending therefrom which extend into holes in the circuit board and each leg has a laterally extending spring contact portion which bears against a second conductor on the circuit board. The legs are shaped such that when the contact member is assembled to the board, the legs are deformed and the contact member is secured on the board without solder or other bonding material.

  • Patent number: 4277124
Abstract: Multi-contact electrical connector comprises a housing having a plurality of side-by-side cavities extending therethrough. Each cavity has a terminal therein which has a wire-in-slot connecting means intermediate its ends and a crimpable portion, adjacent to the rearward end of the cavity, which can be crimped onto a wire. The wire-receiving means and the crimpable means are arranged such that a wire can be inserted into the wire-receiving slot and the crimpable portion can be crimped onto the wire in a single stroke of an inserting and crimping tool.
