  • Patent number: 10984691
Abstract: A method and a display driver apparatus for detecting panel defect on an electronic paper display (EPD) are provided. A sense voltage from the voltage for common (VCOM) electrode of the EPD is obtained and compared with an upper reference voltage and a lower reference voltage. As the sense voltage is proportional to a total capacitance of the plural display electrode capacitors on the EPD, a defective panel with capacitance abnormality or opened circuits can be identified.

  • Publication number: 20190304350
Abstract: A method and a display driver apparatus for detecting panel defect on a non-volatile type display panel are disclosed. The present invention obtains a sense voltage from the VCOM electrode or the source lines of the display panel, comparing the sense voltage with an upper reference voltage and a lower reference voltage, and determining a condition of the display panel. As the sense voltage is proportional to a total capacitance of the plural display electrode capacitors on the display panel, a defective panel with abnormal capacitance can be identified.

  • Publication number: 20070173733
Abstract: A method of detecting a mental state includes receiving, in a processor, bio-signals of a subject from one or more bio-signal detectors, and determining in the processor whether the bio-signals represent the presence of a particular mental state in the subject. A method of using the detected mental state includes receiving, in a processor, a signal representing whether a mental state is present in the subject. The mental state can be a non-deliberative mental state, such as an emotion, preference or sensation. A processor can configured perform the methods, and a computer program product, tangibly stored on machine readable medium can have instructions operable to cause a processor to perform the methods.

  • Publication number: 20070012429
Abstract: A heat transfer device includes a vapor chamber that houses a phase change material such as water. The heat transfer device may be selectively formed from a combination of polymeric and non-polymeric materials. In one embodiment, the vapor chamber is formed from a polymer layer surrounding a sealing layer formed from non-polymeric material. The heat transfer device may further include one or more fin members operable to diffuse heat from the vapor chamber to the ambient/outside environment. The fins may be solid structures, or may each define a fin chamber in communication with the vapor chamber. In one embodiment, the fin members are formed from non-polymeric material.
