    Abstract: A method of forming a lightweight, airlaid web of wood fibers suitable for tissue and toweling applications comprises airlaying a wood fiber continuum onto a foraminous carrier, bringing the continuum into contact with a transfer member printed with an adhesive in a preselected pattern, the adhesive being disposed in a low viscosity fluid, and removing the fluid to provide an airlaid, adhesively bonded web.
