  • Publication number: 20060272907
Abstract: A brake disc for a disc brake is provided, which can be fixed to a wheel hub, especially of a utility vehicle. The brake disc includes two concentric friction rings and a brake disc neck that is connected thereto and is joined to the wheel hub. The disc brake is embodied such that the brake disc neck is fastened to the wheel hub by way of a joining piece, which is connected in a fixed manner to the brake disc neck and be elastically deformed relative to the friction rings in an axial direction.

  • Publication number: 20060219489
Abstract: The invention relates to a disc brake, particularly for a goods vehicle, comprising a brake caliper, which has a brake disc that can be brought into active contact with brake shoes and which can be fixed to a brake support in a manner that enables it to be axially displaced relative to the brake disc. The inventive disc brake also comprises a closure plate, which closes the brake caliper on the side facing the brake disc, and comprises a removable retainer, which is fixed relative to the brake caliper and on which springs acting upon the outer edges of the brake shoes are supported. The disc brake is designed in such a manner that a fixing device is provided in the closure plate, and the facing end of the retainer lies inside the fixing device while being held in a direction of loading.

  • Patent number: 6991073
Abstract: The invention relates to a disk brake, in particular for a utility vehicle, comprising a brake caliper that encompasses a brake disk. The caliper is fixed to a brake support of the utility vehicle by means of fixing elements and can be axially displaced in relation to the brake disk. One fixing element is configured as a fixed bearing and the other as a floating bearing. The disk brake is configured in such a way that the floating bearing consists of a guide bush, part of which have a different wall thickness and in which a bearing bolt with a circular cross-section is guided, or a guide bush with an even wall thickness, in which a bearing bolt with an oval cross-section is guided.

  • Publication number: 20050236234
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for testing the functional reliability of parts subject to wear and/or functional parts, whose position can change, or components thereof in a pneumatic or electromechanically actuated disc brake, in particular for a commercial vehicle. According to said method, reflectable signals are emitted by a transmitter to the functional part that is to be tested, the reflected signals are received by the receiver and the actual and desired values are compared and evaluated.

  • Patent number: 5697474
Abstract: A disc brake is described which is actuatable by a fluid pressure actuation apparatus. A brake application shaft (8) with a brake lever (6) extending approximately perpendicularly from the shaft is disposed inside a brake caliper housing (1). The ring-shaped space between the brake lever (6) and the region of the brake caliper housing (1) which surrounds lever (6) is sealed-off by a seal (18).

  • Patent number: 5680912
Abstract: A disc brake has a driven adjusting mechanism with a thrust shaft. A drive element of the adjusting mechanism is coupled to the thrust shaft in a manner such that the drive element and thrust shaft are mutually irrotational but are axially movable with respect to each other. A coupling is provided between the drive element and thrust shaft so that they can mutually move translationally in each of two directions, which directions are perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the thrust shaft. In this way, the adjustment of the brake is rendered insensitive to vibrations and oscillations, and to fluctuations due to manufacturing tolerances and assembly deviations. The process of assembly of the brake is also made simpler and easier.

  • Patent number: 5449052
Abstract: An adjusting mechanism for a disc brake, particularly a sliding-caliper disc brake. The adjusting mechanism comprising a force-dependent coupling disposed on the side of the adjusting drive mechanism which side is directed toward the brake disc. In particular, the force-dependent coupling is disposed between an application shaft and an adjusting shaft. A part of the coupling is fixed to the adjusting shaft, both rotationally and axially, axially at least so as not to be slidable in the direction away from the brake disc. The remainder of the adjusting drive mechanism is axially slidable in the direction away from the brake disc against an elastic restoring force.

  • Patent number: 5433298
Abstract: An actuating mechanism for a sliding caliper disc brake has an actuator shaft with a projection in the form of an involute with an increasing radius. The involute is linked to an arcuate shaped rolling element through a pin fitting in recesses in the respective parts. The rolling element applies pressure to a thrust piece for actuating the brake when the actuator shaft is rotated by a brake lever. The axis of the actuator shaft is displaced from the center plane of the thrust piece so that the line of contact of the projection and the rolling element is constantly on the center plane.
